In general Goniopora get a bad rep in our opinion and are fairly easy beginner corals to keep, they are even some of the first corals we put into new Reef systems! Dated knowledge lead us to believe Goniopora were hard to keep, but with a larger understanding of what these corals need to thrive we have had much more success in the aquaculture and propagation of Goniopora.
in general our best piece of advice we can give is that at the end of the day we are not keeping coral. We’re not keeping acan, hammers, Goniopora, Acropora etc…… but instead we are keeping water parameters. If you can keep your water consistent and stable everything else will follow. Test and adjust regularly and most all corals will quickly become easy to keep..
here are our in house parameters we would recommend replicating
SG: 1.026
Alk: 7.5-8 dkh
Cal: 420-440 ppm
Mag: 1350-1400
N03: 10-20
po4: 0.05-0.08
Temp: 78-79

Our in house nitrate stays at 10-20 and phosphate 0.05-0.08 for all 4000gallons of current aquaculture
