DAILY QUESTION: What experiences have you had with moonlight cycles and their effects on nocturnal reef activity?
So I like the moonlight setting because it allows me to see things in the tank that only come out at night and for that same reason I really don’t like the moonlights.

I really didn’t need to know to what extent the bristle worms have taken over my tank. Or how quickly they take over a newly place rock.

Still really cool to see feeder tentacles of the corals though!

DAILY QUESTION: How do you manage light schedules to prevent algae growth while supporting coral health?
Wait you can do that!!

So my lights start ramping up at 6:30am …by 8:30 am we are full steam ahead! And then it starts the saw thing pattern at like 10:50am….by 4:40pm we’ve evened out by 7pm we are on our decent course to lights out by 9pm.

Do I think it’s better than others - no clue
Does it seem to be working for me - sure
Does it support coral health - I’m not a doctor and I won’t pretend to be one

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your strategy for acclimating corals to a new lighting system?
Sand bed or drag rack depending on the coral…some may go right to where I think their happy spot is…

No reasoning- just depends on how I feel

DAILY QUESTION: How has reef lighting technology evolved since you first started reefing?
What’s changed in 5years?
Not much.
Maybe better LED diodes
better apps?
Way more “generic” brands out there (I’m looking at you Amazon!)

Prices have gone up - which is sad - because I really can’t afforded the lights I’d want

DAILY QUESTION: How do you use lighting programs like Coral Acclimation and Clouds to benefit your tank?
If you swapping to an entirely new lighting system the the acclimation part makes sure you don’t have to worry as much about shocking the corals!

I guess the clouds is like preprogrammed saw scheduled- allowing breaks in intensity and therefor not frying the corals

DAILY QUESTION: How do you integrate new lighting technology with existing aquarium setups?
Take old off put new on

I have pieces and parts - no automation - not locked into an environment- so no clue other then what I already said
