DAILY QUESTION: What excites you most about the future of saltwater aquarium lighting? What is one innovative idea you hope will eventually become a reality for reef lighting?
This is two questions ;)
I don't really get excited about the future of reef lighting.
I'm not really into tech so I have a severe lack of innovative ideas.

How about an innovation to decrease the price...

Lower prices. Might be a reach, but some form of predictable par. Something that can take an image of your tank, take the light settings and spit out a visual of live par #'s.

Answer to the question of the day. Only innovation I am looking for a light that I can plug in and not worry about for 10 years.

I don't really need more innovation. What would be really cool is if the future could bring prices down.

DAILY QUESTION: What excites you most about the future of saltwater aquarium lighting? What is one innovative idea you hope will eventually become a reality for reef lighting?
BONUS Daily Question Response: The future of all this is for AI to help manage our tanks based upon highly trained isolated models specific to our hobby. Lighting as a function, needs to be connected to one open source AI model though instead of vendor specific models, which I am sure is as scary for manufacturers who own our hardware systems with all the other proprietary systems that existed over the past 5 years. We need innovation that is not all about draining high dollars from hobbyists wallets.

The continued reduction in power consumption for quality results. A change from proprietary systems to more interchangable and easier connection between systems

The only innovation I can think of is it is plug in and you don't have to use a Par meter.

For me it's efficiency, lower powered lights that produce massive par numbers. I think Natura has started making steps to towards this with better reflectors and LEDs

It would be cool if there was a way to integrate cameras/AI into the lights where the light could adjust itself to achieve ideal PAR ranges for the coral underneath it. Avoid burning out the corals/not giving the corals enough light.
