Hi, so I’m starting over due to a possible contamination. I was removing everything from the tank and noticed these white crystal like things growing on the bottom of my live rock that was sitting on live sand. I’ve done research but I am not sure if this is dead coralline. Anyone know what this...
Picture isn't great, but hopefully this is enough to ID.
I don't ask for tags on zoas under $30. Should probably start to help with resale.
Also, these guys above the bubblegum digi grow like a weed and I'm going to have to start pruning soon.
Hey guys I just picked up a tang and it’s swimming super weird. It twitches it’s head often but it also goes near the surface at times and freaks out. Just curious if anyone can identify this disease so I can cure this little bugger. The video doesn’t do it too much justice but hope it helps...
I received this frag from WWC labeled as a Blue Heron Turbinaria. In person it looks dark blue to violet, and the polyps are bright green. I think this is a Turbinaria reniformis (probably the WWC purple scroll turbinaria) but I haven't had a blue heron turbinaria before and the growth pattern...
I just got this amazing blasto for 20$! It’s a small colony and it has what I think is a small clam attached. It’s alive still. Can anyone tell me what this is for sure and if it will hurt anything?
Hey all, hope all are well. I have had my clownfish sense they were juvenile and still mostly orange and white but to this day I can’t figure out why they don’t act like all other mated pair I’ve saw. They are two different kinds I remember that but I that they were both ocellaris so they would...
I’ve got this algea that isn’t red slime and isn’t coralline I don’t think. It may be some different kind of coralline I’ve never seen. It’s not encrusting it’s more like it just covers areas of rock but it never gets slimy or hairy. I have red and I just discovered orange.
Can you help me identify this algae? It’s only on a couple rocks, I thought it’s bryopsis but I’m not 100% sure. Pulling it off the rocks is difficult but not impossible. The root system holding it down is very strong.
Hey everyone! Yesterday my boyfriend and I went on a coral buying spree :p !
The lady told us the name of this beauty, but I was way to excited and ended up forgetting the name!
I think it was along the lines of “Yellow Eyed Monster” but I’m not 100% sure :)
Any recommendations? Thanks!!
Last night I noticed these little white spots on my coral beauty. I’m assuming it’s ich (great) but I could be wrong. No idea where it came from as all fish have been happy and healthy. All my other fish are fine.
Hi,
I purchased a carpenter's flasher wrasse, it was sold to me as a 'young male'. A week later I saw another 'young male' carpenter's flasher wrasse at another store and they looked night and day different. Since I got the wrasse I had my doubts if it was actually a male. It doesn't yet have...
Sorry for the horrible pic but I got a free coral that came with my order and I am still kind of new to corals so I was wondering if anyone could identify this for me? If it isn’t a softie sorry I posted it in here. Also it is hard to tell but it is like a dark red/purple with green inside and...
My clownfish recently jumped into the filter section of my tank and ended up in my media basket. I took him out, but I moved kind of quick and I am afraid he might have gotten scratched up. There is a weird spot on his side. It is almost translucent. It honestly looks like he is missing some...
I know it’s in the torch family but no one seems to know what it is. It’s gold with I believe is a little purple & then a teal like color on the tips. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
I need help identifying this Zoa, it grows like crazy and I think it's Fire and Ice. It's red, purple, and then green at the mouth. The only thing I have seen that looks like it is the Fire and Ice variants. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!
Hello everybody! Yesterday my boyfriend and I went up to our LFS and decided to buy some corals!! (Exciting Right!?!)
Anyways while we were there, we seen these BEAUTIFUL Zoas that both my boyfriend and I couldn’t identify!
We asked one of the workers what the name was, & he couldn’t...

Hey everyone,
I'm a noob to the life of reefing lol and would like some assistance. Hopefully someone can help identify this random coral that just showed/opened up this weekend on this Jedi Mind trick I picked up three weeks ago. It's the bright pink one popping up in the middle. This...
Hi everyone,
I got some new live rock about 3 weeks ago and I've been watching it for critters and such. I think ive identified a clam worm (its almost 3 inches long and is iridescent) I'll attach a photo or two of him as well for verification.
My concern however, is another worm...or I think...
