Hello im new here dor startets english is not my mother tongue,
I have a around 60 gallon reef aquarium around 3,5 feet.
Now to my wrasse its acting strange, it is mostly glassurfing and very rarely is swimming at the water surface.
It's breathing normal, it feeds normal I always feed masstick to enhance the natural picking behavior.
Now strange thing is he does it most of the time tho sometimes he acts totally normal and hunts around the tank, he always "throws" sand around and then feeds on whatever he sees in there.
My melanurus wrasse is not as worst as he is but he does glassurf too tho only on the glass side which is covered in algae. When they're both feeding its obvious that the yellow wrasse is the dominant one he doesn't hurt him only chases him for a second.
They both get bog bellys after feeding and both sleep in the sand.
So I wonder what's the problem here.
Some say they chase there reflection cause they turn male?
Could it be stress cause they feel cramped? (They don't even swim that much they just search all the rocks and caves while hunting).
I'm kinda worried but it can't be parasites I guess cause I have them for over 6 months now.

Doubtful on feeling cramped. My Melanurus was always "glass surfing" as you put it. I added a Leucoxanthus (similar to the Yellow Chrysus) and the Melanurus continued swimming in circles up and down. He was fat and happy but always swimming in circles right against the glass. I recently downgraded tanks to a 79 gallon and he stopped doing it and started swimming the whole tank. My Leopard Wrasse now does the glass surfing.

Interestingly enough, the Melanurus and the Leopard only swim in the glass when I walked close to the tank. If I watch from across the room, they swim out in the open like normal.

Then I guess it is a wrasse thing?
Had a foxface for a while to get rid of bubble algae and he was glassurfing due to stress I guess.
Thats why I gave him to another hobbist with a bigger tank.
Point is the foxface was glassurfing different like left right, left right.
I dont feel like I'm not feeding enough cause they got big bellys.
I thought it might be cause they are "alone" but also read they would kill each other if they both get male.

Some can, but my Melanurus and Leucoxanthus are both males.
