@Bleigh I've been having trouble with my favites fading / browning quite severely, despite my water parameters being in check (sometimes alk can be on the low side but I've gotten better at adjusting and maintaining). Any advice? It continues to crust over it's plug but the colors have faded significantly.

try moving them. they may not like the lighting or flow

Send me a pm. Off the top of my head though... how old is your tank? And if it is older, are you replenshing trace elements? aminos help. Also, high phosphates/nitrates can be problematic.
