are echinata basically a type of acan?

Acanthastrea is the Genus of Echinata

"new" Acans known as Lords. Are Micromussa lordhowensis. They belong to the Micromussa Genus.

They have all been rebranded. Acan lors got moved into micromussa. The echinata's stared in the acan category.

I have never had anything touch my echinata's. They look harder, but I may be wrong as I haven't touched them to see. You might want to do some research, but you may be safe with them. They do sting really hard, so they need their space.
