I was reading this thread https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/f56/best-home-mccoskers-30580.html about wrasses, and it reminded me about my current plans. I have a 65 gal mostly LPS tank and a 55 gal refugium. I'm going to add a 75 gal mostly SPS + clams tank. I was thinking that I would put mostly wrasses into it. There are a LOT of wrasses, and many of them are very colorful. I was hoping I could get some advice on several wrasse species that I could put in this tank that could co-exist and be reef and clam safe.

I have had the following wrasse, live together peacefully.

Yellow Coris
Hi Flame pair
Rhomboid pair
Mystery Wrasse Female
Possum Wrasse
Yellow Fin Flasher male

They have co-existed without any problems. I did have an exquisite wrasse female in there and she was a monster so i had to take her ouut.

Check out the Cirrhilabrus wrasses (fairy wrasses).
Most of them all get along, and you cant find better color that these guys have.

i would go with the fairy or flasher wrasses..also i like possum wrasses alot too..though u don't see them as often..they are in the rockwork quite a bit...a thing about the fairys is that some do have thier colors fade alot without females the fish in the blue/green group tends to fade the most..some are very aggressive or more than others like the yellow streak c. luteovittatus, scotts c. scottorum, c rosefescia, and c. filamentosus to name a few..some of my favorite fairys are c.rubrisquamis, laboutei, condei, and c. punctatus varient out of vanuatu..some times called the port villa fairy

Thanks for your response. Your comments reminds me of more criteria! :)

* I'm looking for fish that will not hide all the time
* I'm looking for non-aggressive fish.
* I'm looking for fish that are really nice to look at (nice colors)

I'm like Brad with a bunch of fairies together. Rhomboid, lineatus, Katherines, lanceolatus (maybe rosefascia, sold as a lance but not sure), pink margin, and hooded. All generally get along well but have occasional spats. Pink margin and Katherines are probably the more aggressive of the bunch.
