My dad is a English fisherman and he suggests:
The peacock wrasse

Or the Ballan

The Ballan 100%!

If I wanted a yellow and white fish I'd get a foxface. ;)
The H iridis is the superior yellow wrasse because its colors are unique.

I used to go rockpooling when I was up in Scotland and found all 3 of these wrasses quite regularly (Although it was rare you’d find a mature male/adult and not a juvenile or female).

Well the peacock is a Spanish, Moroccan and Mediterranean fish... Thus why I knew my dad was wrong. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

What’s the third I was thinking of then haha.
I know we have the Cuckoo and Ballan but I’m sure there was a third… the thing is many wrasses we have look similar.
There’s I believe 6 species of wrasse native to the UK;
- Cuckoo
- Ballan
- Baillons
- Rockcook (I believe this was the 3rd species)
- Goldsinny
- Corkwing

I’m sorry Miss but we don‘t use that word here! It’s Iridis ;) :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
We don’t use any of theirs common names here!
We use… Multicolour!
In fact… the multicolour name goes around a few wrasses;
Multicolour Dwarf Parrot (C. lubbocki ‘Indo’)
Multicolour Wrasse (H. iridis)
Multicolour Fairy (C. exquisitus)
Multicolour Parrotfish (S. quoyi)

TMC is known for its… Unusual names, guess what ‘Lineatus Dwarf Parrot’ is ;)
