Good guesses. Less common than argus, but it’s obtainable unlike solorensis.Halichoeres argus or solorensis?
twhs………He’s actually not that short it’s just the photo
Margaritaceus? Ive definitely seen this before….
Looking at the pink lining and the red/purple on the dorsal I’m going to say Rubricaudalis. If it was flavianalis you’d see red only on the filaments - Flavianalis can have 2 filaments but the second is usually rather small. Flavianalis also doesn’t have the red in the tail.I’d please sorry for crap photos
It’s a toss up between H. margaritaceus and H. nebulosus as they look very similar with minor differences.
Last time I saw one was probably 2 years ago now. I nearly got it thinking it was cosmetus as the distributor seems to label Radiatus as Cosmetus every so often and the LFSs over here can’t really ID wrasses. While we are on the note of rarer Halis, when was the last time you guys saw a radiatus?
I’ve just opened my wrasse book and what do you know Halichoeres miniatus is on there and is a perfect matchIt’s a toss up between H. margaritaceus and H. nebulosus as they look very similar with minor differences.
Considering it looks to be fairly mature I’m going nebulosus as they stay similar to the juveniles whilst margaritaceus changes quite a bit and becomes closer to timorensis in looks.
Without doing any googling I’m going to guess this is Pseudocheilinus octotaenia?I’ve got another for you guys… ID level id say is relatively difficult
Good luck
if you know the species available in captivity it shouldn’t be too hard.
I’ll give you a clue…Without doing any googling I’m going to guess this is Pseudocheilinus octotaenia?
You nailed it. Great job. @Slocke you did good also but o can’t think nails the difference. They are a similar fish when using those photosLooking at the pink lining and the red/purple on the dorsal I’m going to say Rubricaudalis.
