That's not lag. Not ISP lag, at least. ISP lag would show up as the page taking long to load. But that doesn't seem to be what most people are experiencing.

The mis-ordered posts are most likely due to the database being semi-fragmented. The posts are likely stored in different shards and them combined. If so, then the ordering is done after the querying. Since each shard query is run independently, they come back in different order (or not at all). Post-processing can fix this sometimes, but other times - not. That could explain the situation I've been seeing, at least...

Whatever the cause, it's not something an end user (such as ourselves) could fix. It's also not something that any of the mods would want to mess with in the middle of the sale as it could cause more problems than it solves...

or some bad DB replication.
