Day 2, That's all folks! - Wow. That's all I can say. 32hrs of Live Sale. Thank god it's over. I can only imagine how @WWC feels right now. At least we all get a break now; they have to keep going for another week or two to wrap this all up. Thanks to everyone @WWC for a fun, though expensive, event! Happy Anniversary to @WWC. Next time I get to Florida I'll have to come check out the store.
Finished with 20 frags from this Live Sale (11 + 9-pack) and the free frag from being picked in the 'Super Cheese' thread.
Thanks to all the R2R folks who made this fun as well!
PS. I'll post all my "Journal Entries" in a single post after this. You're welcome!
Here's all my @WWC July 2020 Live Sale hour-by-hour "Journal Entries" for your reading pleasure.
NOTE: In order posted. Got confused with the HOUR a couple times. Sue me. *grin*
Day 1, Hour 1 - The WWC 13th Anniversary Live Sale is finally here. It's a polarizing event. I love it, my wallet not so much. Will I, and others, be able to control our desires and resist the temptations? Or will we succumb to the siren call and damage our bank accounts beyond repair? God have mercy on our checkbooks.
Day 1, Hour 2 - WWC Live Sale. Currently sparing against 800+ other fools competitors to try and get some sweet sweet corals. Nothing but abject failure and the cursed "Sold Out" message. Must find a way to distract the others.
Day 1, Hour 3 - Some of the competitors with a lack of fortitude have given up. The herd is thinning. Rumor had it that a fresh wave of coral wranglers would be joining as the hours pass by and it looks like they have. Must find GIFs to distract them.
Day 1, Hour 5 - Hesitation is fatal. Click buy, don't think. Time for consideration is later (when the bill comes due or the spouse finds out). Don't let THAT GUY/GAL buy it out from under you!
Day 1, Hour 5 - Hour 5? Again? Feels like deja vu. I'm so confused by all these posts. I think I've already posted Hour 5, but I can't remember. All these posts are starting to look the same.
Day 1, Hour 6 - Sadness settles in as I've realized I misread (or just missed) the rules regarding $5 frags. I've blown my wad on two less than stellar choices. Must. Do. Better.
Day 1, Hour 7 - Hey! You! Yeah... I'm talking to you. Stop trying to buy the same corals I'm trying to buy. Just let me get what I want, then I'll go away and you can have your turn. Let's show a little civility here. Please.
Day 1, Hour 8 - Just heard on the Office - "You're going to have to make a choice. It's either your corals or me." Okay, I may be wrong, it might have been Kelly talking to Darryl about date night and his daughter.
Day 1, Hour 9 - Still on the hunt for one or two more elusive corals of the Acanicus-MustHaveicus species. Some nice specimens spotted but they've been poached before I could legally acquire them. dang contracts!
Day 1, Hour 10 - The family has forced me to leave the computer and go out for sustenance. They don't understand the want, NO the need to see and maybe buy more coral. They just don't understand.
Day 1, Hour 11 - Sustenance achieved but these fools still have me away from the sale. Soon I shall be done though and all the corals you desire will be mine!!! Muhahahaha
Day 1, Hour 12 - Finally. I'm home. ALL YOUR CORAL BELONG TO US! Seriously, it's all mine now. You should just sign off and go watch Svengoolie and "The Land Unknown".
Day 1, Hour 13 - No one is listening to me. It's like there are 600+ 16-year old girls in here and I'm talking to a brick wall. You're all supposed to just sit back and wait for me to finish. The precious must be mine!
Day 1, Hour 14 - The natives are getting restless. Some Dragon Guy is threatening to show us his Bananna Hammock. I think it's just a scare tactic to get everyone (still 650+ people) to call it a night so he can steal my corals. Gotta watch that guy, but carefully in case he does post a pic.
Day 1, Hour 15 - If I only had Andos' time portal. I could go back and snag a bunch of corals from some of you. Or skip forward and snag them before you even get a chance to!
Day 1, Hour 16 - Joe Dirt says you gotten keep on keepin' on. You never give up man, you got me? (Can't believe I've spent most of the day doing this!)
Day 1, Hour 15.75 -- How many of us have been here since 9am yesterday morning?
Day 1, Hour 16 - Ends with a puff. Adios.
----
Day 2, Hour 1 - Have people learned yet? It's all mine!
Day 2, Hour 2 - Less than 600 people this morning and tempers are running high. Can't we all just get along?!?! (That's an often misquoted quote). It's just coral people; that you have to pay for.
Day 2, Hour 3 - Finally! After 16+ hours the elusive Lavender Tipped Duncan is mine! You may all resume attempting to purchase said coral without further competition from this quarter.
Day 2, Hour 4 - Not sure I can make it another 12+ hours. I'm already in too deep. When 'they' find out, 'they' won't be happy. But I've come this far. I must keep on (like Joe Dirt says). I must log this Live Sale for future generations.
Day 2, Hour 5 - Is it wrong that I'm coral'd out? Is that blasphemy as a reefer? Maybe it's just the drain of the wallet pulling me down. Are there such things as wallet uppers?
Day 2, Hour 6 - The madness, figuratively and literally, continues. Surely there must be something else I/We could be doing.
Day 2, Hour 7 - There we go. This Live Sale just needed some rockin' music in the background! Can you dig it? Can. You. DIG. IT!?!?!
P.S. My weekly water change is done now! Woot.
Day 2, Hour 8 - Had to bring the daughter to work. She needs to pay her landlord (me) her rent so he can keep buying corals he doesn't need. LOL! Who am I kidding, she's 16, she doesn't pay rent. (** Eyes another coral or two **) Maybe I should change that...
Day 2, Hour 9 - Man... it's hot outside. Now I know why sitting here for this Live Sale is better. Different kind of heat. Hot corals, burning hot Credit Card statement. If there were AC outside maybe I'd leave the house more in Summer. Guess that would just be called Winter though. I'm in New England... if I wait 5 minutes the weather is supposed to change.
Day 2, Hour 10 - Should I be ashamed that I'm basically just reading this thread now and looking for coral is secondary? (Yeah, yeah... I know the rest of you like that.) It's not that I have enough, I just want to wait until later and also try and reduce damage to the wallet.
Day 2, Hour 11 - One coral, two coral, three coral more. Four coral, five coral, six coral poor. So what is it if you get to 10 or more? Only six more hours to go people! Hang in there everyone (hovering around 500 now), or don't... just means more for the rest of us. hehe.
Day 2, Hour 12 - Sorry, was eating some pizza. It wasn't delivery, but I don't think it was DiGiorno either. Regardless, I'm powered back up for the final 5 hours. Bring it on @WWC. Surprise me with some awesome coral and even awesomer (not a real word!) deals.
Day 2, Hour 13 - Patience Grasshoppa! That reminds me of the TV show "Kung Fu" with David Carradine. We used to watch it on Channel 38 (WSBK). This was way back before cable. Our house in Central MA was able to pick up a whole 6-10 channels. 'Dialing for Dollars' was the late afternoon movie show. During commercials they'd pick random names from the phone book and call them. If you answered and knew the prize amount you won it. They never called us. Every day it felt like when someone steals coral out of your cart. Good memories!
Day 2, Hour 14 - Give a man a fish, he eats for one meal. Show him how to Google to find the solution to his problem and he responds with a rude finger gesture animated GIF. Worst thing about it is he probably didn't even click the link for the solution to his problem; he just saw the default LMGTFY description and got all upset. lol. Oh, what? Corals. Yeah, that's right... we're here for corals. 3 hours left. The real fun is about to begin. Maybe, sorta... I shouldn't be spending any more money. Bob Welch won't be joining us.
Day 2, Hour 15 - These Live Sales are like a live social experiment. Brings out the best in people when they are getting the things they want. But watch out when not everything goes as wanted/expected. It's like a roller-coaster of emotional reactions. Some people act like they're forced to participate. It's been an interesting 30+/- hours so far to say the least. Now back to trying to snag a few more corals away from the other ~450 reefers.
@WWC - After talking with the @WWC-BOT it has said that if my Live Sale Journal posts total up to 100+ likes then it will assign me a random coral for entertaining you all these last couple days. Now go everyone! Like this post!
Day 2, Hour 16 - One hour left! (Still 480+ people watching) Boy, time flys when you're having fun. Wait... can I say that anymore, or do I need to say Non-specific Gender time flys when you're having fun? Spent way more than I wanted to, like a lot of people. Guess I have to clear my frag rack and start to place the corals in the 'scape.
