I'm not new to bleach curing rock, but picking up some of the purple stuff for a good price. Will the bleach change/remove the color? Thanks!

It just flaked off and disappeared in my tank over the years. Urchins ate it to.

Thanks for the response. Does anybody else know for sure? I don't want to wait months for a natural cure... Any other options?
Just curious because I never heard of a bleach cure nor a natural cure. What are you attempting to achieve with a “cure”?

Kill all organic material and start fresh? Ensures no aptasia, etc at the start. I suppose a natural cure keeps good bacteria...

Is it dry? If it isn't wet, you won't get aiptasia. If you want to be cautious and its wet, just dry it outside for a while, then let it sit in a bin with a heater + some carbon and gfo in a little filter

I've done a bleach bath on man made colored rock in the past that had organic matter on it and bleach did take some of the color out, but some stayed.

I have used bleach on some of the purple life rocks and it almost completely lost all of its color.

Another option for you could be to leave it out in the sun for a few days and then pressure wash it.

If you do want to go with the bleach route,
they sell the dye used to make them purple.
