I took this the other night. It's at the foot of my bed, so when I turn the room lights on I get a good view.

Are they responding to your feeding schedule or do you feed corals?
I don’t, just seems to be something Acros do IMO. At night they send out the clear polyps from their tips that I imagine have something to do with feeding.

I’ve heard people have actually “trained” their corals to extend at specific times for feeding …I’m not so much skeptical as I’d like to dang well see that for myself..

I love to take a peek at night especially armed with a red flashlight. My sand bed looks alive like a disturbed fire ant bed with occasional monsters (aka crabs etc) lumbering through it - it's crazy. And it blows me away how 4" to 7" fish can be impossible to find.

see anything noteworthy and have you tried that red light trick BRS talks about?
I seen so much life that I would never see when the lights are on its amazing from tiny anpods to spaghetti worms I even seen my fish spawn at night and the corals like my hammerheads inflate more and seem like all the corals are feeding

Who doesn’t …..
every night , with a flashlight .
1) to find each fish is in their proper resting place and not sneaking to the neighbours
2) see what the serpent stars are eating
3) 20+ years reefing and it’s amazing what you might see crawling at night
