I love books and Amazon used is one of the best sources for used reef books. I managed to buy a few books that I lost, one of which came from a library and I'm pretty sure it was read by no one. It was in pristine condition and I paid less than a 1/4 of what the original price was. I also think books are what's missing from new hobbyist's checklist when getting into the hobby. The root fundamentals are virtually unchanged and you could pick up a book from the 80's or 90's and set up a tank based on what's inside and be successful.

Aquarium Plants: The Practical Guide by Pablo Tepoot is a great book.

Also The Optimum Aquarium by Kaspar Horst, and Horst E Kipper.

A year or two ago when I was missing having a tank, I splurged on a bunch of Scott Michael’s out of print books. which promptly got me back in!!

I’ll have to check out some of the recommendations. I remember hearing about Calfo’s book all the time. Great thread!

I’ve got a few more too, some aquarium plant books, a few macro algae books, one on seagrasses, another few invert books and one on seahorses and pipefish.

I don't see Svein A Fossa and Alf Jacob Nilsen's The Modern Coral Reef Aquarium in your collection. A fantastic 4 volume series from the late '90s to early 00s, and it's still an amazing set of quality reference material.
That's because I don't own them but they're on the list. I have an entire shelf of pond books that aren't in the photo.

I see no one seems to have the book our own @Paul B wrote
It seems a few thousand people have it. The vast majority of them use it to level their Christmas tree and the rest are in nursing homes or hospice.

I've got a copy Paul! Honestly, I've been visiting these boards longer than I've kept a tank at this point and you've been one of the constants. Love the directions on creating bottles, etc. Hope you, your family and tank are well!

reeftwincities, Thank you. I have been visiting these boards since way before they invented them. I have had a tank since TVs were made of wood. Thats the same stuff we used to make trees out of. :p

Fishes of the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea....by Randall, Allen and Steene.
Great pics of just about anything from that region.

I don't see The Coral Reef Aquarium Volume 1 by Tony Vargas which also has a Volume 2 being released in January...check out the Two Little Fishies store to preorder, although I'd just wait for it to be released since they keep delaying the release date which would be frustrating for anyone who preordered and expected it last month like they originally said. You also seem to be missing Julian Sprungs 3 volumes

Algae: A Problem Solver Guide (Oceanographic Series) by Julian Sprung

Marine Macro- And Microalgae : An Overview by F Xavier Malcata; Isabel Sousa Pinto; A Catarina Guedes
