Just noticed this large white spot on my tangs fin. It’s large and swollen. Can even see it from the other side of his body. I cannot find anything on the internet about it. Is it possible it’s a sting from my anemone. Does anyone have any idea what these spots are from

It looks to me like damage/infection. Has it gotten any better or worse since you first noticed?
Noticed it right before I made this post I will be keeping an eye on it and updating it. I just added a new anemone and it moved right next to where he sleeps was wondering if it’s possible he got tangled up in it. There’s the large raised portion visible in the photos but it looks like that entire vein in his fin is swollen on both sides. Doesn’t seem to effect him he’s still his goofy self just wanna make sure this isn’t something that will worsen over time

What kind of nem?

I once had a condy, the purple tang hated it. It would try to swipe it with the tail.
He would end up with a white streak where the nem stung it. It would always be gone the next day. Tang unphased.

it is a white streak that’s what makes me think nem sting he’s unfazed as well. It’s called a borneman anemone or pacific green rock flower anemone looks like a rock flower with a foot like a bubble tip. It’s a new addition and I’m slightly worried about it as I’ve read they grow very fast… it was an impulse purchase because I had never seen anything like it and the only thing the lfa would tell me about it was it’s rare and has a sting strong enough to easily wipe out the bubble tip or rock flowers I have. He moved to a very dark low flow part of my tank in the first couple hours and seems very happy there away from any corals or nems to possibly sting but it’s also the same cave structure my tang hides in and also coasts back and forth in when he’s sleeping. I’m wondering if he might of gotten tangled in it while he was sleeping.
