Some of us have been in the hobby for some time and some of us inspired by that one fish which cannot be found.

What is that one fish you want in your tank or Back in your tank and you simply cannot find one ?

For me it was Pyramid butterfly - I wanted a trio and always saw single. They were gone for a while.
Right now for me- big unicorn tang

I'll grab a photo of the one at my LFS tomorrow. She's in their large frag tank and is the "puppy" of the place, in the sense she follows you around while your eyeing up pieces. She looks to be close to full grown.
Every now and again they will have 1 or 2 come in, but they disappear quickly.

if i had a big enough tank, that tang would definitely be in it! (and a powder blue!)

for me, i can never find the "blue flasher wrasse" - (Paracheilinus cyaneus). this was the original wrasse i wanted for my 40B, but ended up with the "yellow wrasse" -(Halichoeres chrysus) instead since it was readily available at my LFS.

Love that wrasse and went looking. Lots of places have them listed not in stock at anywhere up to $1500 based on size. Herein lies the problem... Hawaiian Flame Wrasse. I guess unobtainium unless Hawaii ever opens up again to collection. If I were going to guess it will likely never make the fanatic approved list.

Not a whole lot I want I can't find these days. The internet vs. LFS makes it a lot easier to find what I want. I do want a Potters Angel that is also pretty much unobtainium thanks to Hawaii.

Yellow tang.
Not the Itty bitty biota ones. One large enough to be placed into the DT with others. I have 2 and one started attacking the other one so I had to move it. I would love to be able to find one or two more to add all of them at once hoping to reduce one being singled out for aggression.

I had a 3 year old potters. I was moving from a condo at the beach to a mid century ranch in town and there was a 9 month stop in a tiny apartment while the house business was going on.

I had to sell my potters. I figured, "meh I love this fish, but I'll just get another. My LFS has always come through for me." I sold it for $80. 4 months later we all know what happened.

I really hope to have one of those again.

Love my 2… (white lights not on yet), they get more attention than the 6 yellow tangs in with them.

I’ve been looking for a pink streaked fir 2 years now
LA has them in stock as of yesterday.
I was lucky and found mine at my LFS:)

Agree with you tho, wish they were readily available. one of the ultimate nano fish IMO. I’d love to have a trio one day..

Annularis angelfish or blue ring angelfish as it is sometimes called. As an adult.
I had one years ago. Most beautiful fish I ever had.
I have had a couple of these and they are great fish. The most recent was captive bred. It arrived at 1.5" and grew to 9" and full adult colors in 10 months! Also never picked at any of my corals... but did start to bully the other fish. :0(

Right now for me- big unicorn tang
Assuming Naso brevirostris? Super cool!
