What Is The Best Car On The Road Today?

Some kind of German car like mercedes/ BMW or volkswagon,
I've owned merc and volkswagon and good strong reliable cars but parts can be pricey but so can most new cars any make.
Most taxi drivers in my home city drive Toyota cars and asked them why and they said parts are easy to get and very reliable cars and researched this and found out they highly recommended and great reviews about not breaking down so often so bought myself a toyota van for work.
In us I don't know how easy or hard it is to get certain parts for certain vehicles but imo I would be starting there to see how easy parts are to get and prices then get a car that's in your price bracket and parts easy enough and cheap enough to get .
Put some makes/ models down on oaper then Do a pros and cons list and some of your targets what you want from your car and see if the cars tick your boxes so to speak

Not my 21' Ford Escape. It's good overall. It just has so many software bugs, hardware flaws, and design flaws. Apple Car Apple only activates about half the time, the sunroof glass panel vibrates and hums when it is windy at 65+ mph, and the back-up camera falters in temps of 70+ degrees F.

My 2007 Nissan Altima was an awesome car all around

I am in my car a lot - it is as much my office as an office. After having my fill of Accords, Acuras, Toyotas, I went German as I got older and wanted more room and comfort with a8, s550 and a few 750li BMWs. The "best" ones out there are my Huyndai Equus and the Genesis g90. Make no mistake about it, the Genesis is every bit as good of a car as any other flagship out there short of $150,000.

I had a Maserati Quattroporte with the Ferrari v8 in it for a few weeks as a loaner - lots of fun and I LOVED it, but I might have been mad if it was ready for the junkyard at 75k miles. I don't have a good long term review of this one.

The all have nits that you can pick between each other, like I don't like how long the seats take to heat up in the Korean cars, but the Lexicon stereos are way better than the B&O, Bose, Klispisch and other German ones. The german turbo engines are probably faster, but the torquie natural v8 is more fun to drive without the turbo lag - all of them are well sub-six 0-60 legit and closer to 5 seconds. All of the RWD were better driving than the AWD, but this is no surprise. Wood steering wheels in the Genesis are way better than the soft leather of the German cars which wear out, get sticky and holes in them. I get v8s in all of them which all seem to get about 20mph when you are not being a jerk, but I think that all of them make v6 to get a little more. In the end, the are all effectively equal.

In the end, the Korean cars win because I have 150,000 plus miles on both of them without much maintenance needed and none of the Mercedes, BWWs or Audi ever could get that far. I had a f01 BMW 750li that needed two engines, 5 turbos (how?), a transmission, main computer and countless air suspension parts before it made 60-75k miles.

If I was buying another car right now, it would be a 2016 Hyundai Equus with less than 30k miles.

If you need 4wd or ADW, then I don't know. I have a Navigator and Truck for snow days.

My other car is my 2007 VW Jetta, with the inline 5 2.5L engine. it nets a solid 29MPG in mixed traffic and is very comfortable. Nothing beats a german car for comfort and how overall sensible they feel, but maintenance can be a PITA. It's a lovely car all around though. Just wish it was a wagon for camping and fishing trips.

However-

The Jetta is parked right now because the plastic impeller on the water pump fell apart. I have a new water pump (with a metal impeller) but I'm lazy so it's only being driven around the corner for short errands once in a while to keep the battery charged until I get around to fixing it.

That's the nice thing about the bug- no water, no problem

yes that was a wonderful design feature...the 2.0 4 cyl mark 4's do that too...mine fell off in rural virginia 3 hrs away from my NC destination and 9 hrs from my NY home...tow dollied it the rest of the way to NC and fixed it in a friends garage...of course the only pump available locally had a plastic impeller too...car gets a conti belt/metal impeller pump/tensioner kit every 60,000 miles now....at least it has a belt...just wait till you have to pull the trans to change your timing chains...
