Pretty Busch league to close the doors and not put out a statement or anything if that’s what’s happening. Running a business is tough and I’m sure nobody is more upset than them, but letting your customers know what’s happening is better than just pulling the website and shuttering the doors.

I love my Crystal Dynamics tank and stand. I had a bit of a custom job done, 6+ years and all is well (knock on wood). Sad to hear this as I would have gone with them when/if I needed another tank. I agree, a public statement would have been the right thing to do. It is what it is, but reputation gets soured when you do it this way and you never know, you might want to start up again in the industry. Wishing the best to all of them….

I had a good experience with them and they were really accommodating. Quality is great too. If this is true I'm sad to see them go because I always assumed I would go with them for my next tank.

Thank you for the information. A bad answer is unfortunately better than no answer.
I’m in the same boat with a 400g cda tank

I reached out to them in April because I was in town in Oceanside. I wanted to see their operations, chat with the actual folks who make the tanks. I called them, texted them (as they had asked), .... Crickets. Nothing, Nada, no reply.

So I crossed them off my list, will go to Glass Cages.

Knew I should of gone with glass cages.
Yep - 1 on 1 customer service and been around for a long time with current owners whollh dedicated to quality product and customer experience.

I am not a customer and have absolutely no ties to them in any form or fashion. I talked to Joe once or twice about a new tank a year or so back. I like what I heard, like what I see (site and tanks I have seen in person) and like what I have observed since he purchased the company. I would not hesitate to contract them if/when a new tank is needed.

I like my tank. I really do. It was exactly what I wanted, my stand is nice too. Zoya was very responsive to me when the first tank was damaged during shipping. I can't knock any of that. I'm just upset about my warranty.

Does cda still have a account here? Maybe they could explain the situation if so?

I know nothing about the company, their products, status or any of the people involved. I only offered Glass Cages as an alternative to those looking for somebody that they can rely on for a quality tank and customer service.

I wouldn’t worry about their tanks leaking. They’re built like tanks (no pun intended), but the quality is not the best.

Rent increase does not alone account for this. May be the nail in the coffin, but would assume they were under water already if they did not make an announcement and have abandoned warranty support.

That sucks, I have a 100G From them, of course this morning I realize that my tank started to leak from the seam. A replacement aquarium that they had done for me two years ago I have nothing bad to say about them. They have always been good to me, but I guess there’s no more warranty.

I’m sure there are lots of us out there a now void warranty.
It’s hard to believed these tanks can even leak with how they are built.

hi reef2reef! It’s been a while I logged on to this site.
I had a dental appointment for three tooth implants today. I just wanted to go rest after my surgery but came home to a leaking tank. It’s a crystal dynamic tank I got made my them at rap in Anaheim. I was in pain and had to round up containers to save my fish and drain all the water before getting more water onto the floor. It was bad! Decided to look them up and came across this thread. This will be the nail in the coffin for me getting out of the hobby.

Where did the leak start and how old is the tank?

My tank is about 5 years old. I’m sure it’s out of warranty but wanted to look them up to ask about it getting resealed out of pocket.
The tank was seeping water out of the bottom of the tank between the glass and the plastic layer they put underneath the tank.
