What gadgets have you bought just for the “cool factor”?

Some of us, including myself, love our gadgets and have just as much fun fiddling with equipment as we do watching our displays. What are some things you have purchased or built that you didn’t really need, but were so cool you just had to get?

I’m currently eyeing calcium reactors primarily because I just think it would be cool to incorporate a gas cylinder in my fish room

Probably my Tunze Multicontroller 7097 that I have on my 25G reef.

I'm a low-tech kind of aquarist, but I just thought it would be fun to have a small control board running at least one of my systems.
Have two Tunze 6055's slaved to it, running them in a 6h alternating cycle for tide simulation, in pulse mode and with daily storm cycles!

Don't tell anyone but I didn't purchase mine, and I didn't walk out of a store with them on my head either. They came as a gift in a BRS order years ago, or did I purchase them and now I am ashamed to admit it?

They also work ok as an orange camera filter in a pinch.

Back to the gadget.

I avoided most of them, but I did by a breeder net for my guppies once. I still test by hand, mostly, and i quit using magnet cleaners because I have acrylic tanks.
