Hi :)

I've had my marine tank for a bit over a year now and have obviously got some supplies on hand through purchases over the last 12 months, but I thought i'd ask what are the medications/water treatments/emergency supplies that you would suggest we all keep on hand 'just in case'.

I am in Australia so a lot of the medications I see you mention (eg PraziPro) I can't find here, so if there were any aussies that can suggest items we can get that would be great!

What I currently have off the top of my head

Water tests and treatments:
Red Sea water tests (both basic set and calcium/magnesium/alkalinity)
Hanna UL Phosphate, Hanna Calcium, Hanna Alkalinity
Phosphate Minus
PhosGuard
Carbon
ChemiClean
Red Sea Foundation Skeletal Elements Foundation ABC+

Equipment/emergency supplies:
2 battery powered air pumps and batteries
Spare reef mat roll

Medications:
Reef Revolution Parasite Treatment

Really keen to know what medications you would recommend I have on hand just in case and would love these to be readily available in Australia. Any other emergency supplies I might need (Eg during a power outage?)

Thanks! :)

Sorry - maybe this should have gone in a general discussion area not fish discussion. Not sure if I can move it now.

Extra heater, return pump, top off water, and saltwater come to mind also. And the #MODS can move this thread for you. :) (Thread has been moved to "Reef Aquarium Discussion.")

I’d add a Hanna LR Nitrate set. The accuracy is very nice.
I keep a bottle of Copper Power on hand, just in case… (and PraziPro ).
I keep a bottle of Garlic Guard, in case a fish decides it wants to stop eating.

If you have corals, an iodine based coral dip could come in handy, if a coral gets an infection.

Coppersafe
Seachem Kanaplex
Seachem Neoplex

Oh I forgot I do have a coral dip - RedSea Dipx

I have just been looking into Garlic Guard :)

Can you use copper power in the display tank? Does that mean i'd also need a copper test?

That’s a big NOPE to the Copper Power in the display tank! But a 5 gallon bucket and a bottle of Copper Power can make for an emergency hospital tank… at least till you get by the store to pick up that emergency 10 gallon tank.

I have the Hanna Copper test kit. It’s left over from my quarantine days. To keep the copper at therapeutic levels for days/weeks, a decent copper test kit is a necessity.
