What do you enjoy more: setting up a new tank or maintaining an established tank?

Planning my build has been a joy after a long hiatus. My vote is for maintaining. You can have the most comprehensive build, but results speak for themselves.

IME sometimes the planning experience for me can be more fun than actually maintaining my Reef. Why? I don’t know lol.

I enjoy maintaining and trying to make better what I have.
I enjoy experimenting with different methods of reefing and seeing how much better a certain something might be, whatever it is I've been concentrating on this week.

Definitely building. That's my favorite part of any hobby. Buying parts and having it all come together is the best part for me.

They have a term for it. Multiple tank syndrome. I had it really bad! Now it's just bad. I ran 9 tanks at one time. All fresh water. Now I'm down to two salt and one fresh water. Soon to be one of each.
