So I have a 13.5 gallon evo tank as a beginner aquarium to see if I can do this hobby. I currently have 2 clown fish, a yellow watchman goby, and a hammer coral with a poor unknown snail forever attached to the coral (literally). I been wanting to get more corals but I'm not sure what to get. I know frogspawn is neutral with hammers, but is there anything else I can put near hammers?

Side note, I like zoas, but I'm iffy with the idea of having coral with palytoxins..

This is Chlly. The unfortunate snail forever attached to my hammer coral. I gave him a small frozen shrimp to eat. I didn't realize he was there when I bought the coral.

Most Euphyllia’s can touch just keep a eye on them for potential aggression.. I have a torch, hammer and Caulastrea very close to each other that will occasionally touch without issues.

Welcome!

Euphyllia can all get along I lf they want to....but just like people, theres always that one guy who doesnt get along!

In all seriousness any coral can attack another but getting another euphyllia is probably your safest bet. Torches can be more aggressive towards the others but most octo, frog, hammers, and frammers will over time get along.

Gorgonians, Fungi, scolys, and the for-mentioned Zoas would be my picks

I’d go with some other hammers/frogspawn. Also the whole palytoxin thing is way overrated! It’s something to be mindful of but nothing to scare you. Don’t boil your rocks or go tasting any zoas and you’ll be fine. When fragging zoas wear eye protection too

Unfortunately your Chilly is a vermid snail. You need to get rid of it ASAP. Scrape the whole body of the snail off the skeleton structure of the hammer. If you cannot do that or do not feel comfortable handling the coral like that, use a small bit of superglue and glue over the opening. This will starve out the snail and it will die. Take care of this asap or you will be dealing with vermid snails for the foreseeable future.

Make sure your hammer is away from other corals as it will send out sweeper tentacles at night and will severely sting or damage others nearby.

I hope this helps! Good luck

Honestly, I'm glad to get rid of the snail. The slime was annoying. Side note: I caved into getting Zoas' during my lunch break at work. I was nervous about the Palytoxin but I want bright colors. Lol. Besides, what salt water tank doesn't have a Zoa in it?
