What can I use to paint my black epoxy used for aqua scape?

What type of epoxy is this?

Needed together like 2 types of play-doh of a liquid type you need to stir together?

Most* liquid types become inert after drying but the black color makes me hesitate.

A very cheap way to mend rocks together is water superglue and aragonite sand.

Worse case scenario, take the Rocks apart scrape off all that black epoxy and mend it with super glue.

Edit: does it day non-ferrous on your box?
Looks like I see 2 kinds of that brand but one says non-ferrous the other one doesn't say anything. But they both look like they are for tile and pipes and such. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're probably okay using it.

Good luck, Guss

I wouldn’t trust it

As to painting it, no suggestions

I would do over with new rock and use purple two part epoxy from Two Little Fishies

That's a known quantity, and care still needs to be taken when using it

Same stuff, different color, more money.

No clue if reef safe but marketed as safe for reef rock. Perhaps call them or contact the various dry rock suppliers selling purple rocks such as Marco and see what they use and if they sell that product. Those purple rocks in many reef tanks. Some going likely in my Grandson build.

i tried one of these colorants for a “all black” bottom of the ocean theme tank i had high hopes on building out
after a couple weeks it was coming off of the rocks and the color to begin with wasn’t very great unfortunately

Spoke to the person that told me about it and guaranteed that it’s ok to use :). He used it on his reef aquarium ,as long as you don’t use it in the water haha (obviously ) and wait for it to dry properly and then you should have no problem. And also my research about non toxic epoxy say as soon as it drys it’s all good . anyways in couple of weeks after I cycle the tank and put some iinverts and corals in it I’ll update you guy .

Same company? Perhaps it sticks best to rougher surfaces such as rocks.

I'm not using it

You may

Maybe, take one for the team, tell us how it goes. I'm honestly curious about it's real cost with a tank full of corals
I buy epoxy in the electrical department all the time. Used to use it for my scapes but now exclusively for mounting frags to plugs. Usually it's green with a white center but the last one I bought is gray with a white center.

It's just a different color, *as long as it's ferrous free*.
I don't need to take one for the team as I've been using this stuff for 20 years.

As all the epoxies do. I haven't found one yet that actually sticks and bonds 2 rocks together. And yes, I have used the actual one sold for a reef tank. Still didn't work, still same quality as the electrical grade.
