I have a 60 gallon cube and retreat the aqua scape I did on it.... Even more now that I see how gorgeous yours are! Is that a goni or an alvi? I'm guessing its goni... But was just wondering because I'm dying for one but am scared because people say that it's hard, what is your experience?

I think what your looking at are my zoas. I have tried goniopora corals in the past but never had luck with them. The two times that I have tried, they both had RTN after about 2 weeks. If I were to try it again I would go with the ORA red goniopora.

I try to keep my Alk at 9, Mg 1300 and Cal 420. Temp stays between 77-78 by using fans and I always keep my ceiling fan on in the room. The total water volume is about 120G and I do a 15-20G water change every two weeks. I use GFO and carbon and change that out about every 1-2 months. I run a calcium reactor and keep the effluent at 6.4pH. I don't test for phosphate or nitrate. I am running 2x250W radium bulbs and 2xvho super actinic and change these every 6 months.

My faith in the cube restored...
I'm in the midst of tearing down my 75g, and getting out for a little so I can do some home repairs - and so my fish can recover from an ich outbreak. I am really torn for getting a 105 Neo or a 93g Cube I seen at the local shop. I'm not keen on the cube just to size of fish you can keep. Primarily I'd like to get another Long-Nose Butterfly again. (Lost mine from ich). I just want my fish to be happy, and I might find it hard to give up the 48" lifestyle.

I looked through your photos... I then looked over at my tiny cube and a tear rolled down my cheek. Cube envy.

long overdue update

Well I installed new carpet and shutters in my house and had to move my tank. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to finally finish my tank canopy. I know, I have been procrastinating for over 2 years but I'm happy to say it should be done some time this year. Some photos of the current progression.

Old tank location

Temporary tank setup

New tank location, canopy and equipment for automatic lift

Updates to follow

Thank you. I ordered all of my lift equipment on amazon. There is a company on there called progressive automations that sells their products on the website.
