Build is looking good. I have a small waterbox 35.1 (22gallon with 10 gallon sump). I really like it, it’s been cycling for two months. I also have an apex for it and really like that cabinet you got. Did you drill holes for chords or were they already There? Do you have a link or name of this cabinet. I live close to an IKEA also but finding a specific cabinet without the id number is almost impossible In that place.

I most have been posting the same time you were. The model is described in a post just prior to yours. I had to the drill the holes since it is really a bathroom wall cabinet. Also, I added a small fan as I noticed it was getting quite warm with all of the equipment.

We have the same tank and gear except mine is barebttom and run Orphek lights, an MP10 and alternating TUNZE 6005 x2, and a bubble magus 7, and just started with the ice cap algae scrubber.

Nice tank! How do you like running with no sand? I am planning a 180g bare bottom SPS dominant tank. I like sand, but I don't like the maintenance.

I noticed you have the same bubble tips. Mine just split... again. I have two in QT / nano and two in the Waterbox. I love the color. I have sold a couple locally too. They are very popular since the LFS rarely have them and when they do they are selling for bank.

I have a large Japanese Pink Nepthea that grows very fast. When I trim I sell the cuttings. This coral is also very popular as well.

It is great to live in SoCali, lots of choices for fish and corals.

I LOVE Barebottom. I have an MP 10 located to blow across the bottom back of the tank about a third of the way down, and two tunzes pointed at the top back of the tank with alternating flow (programmed on my apex where one on for 17 seconds, the other off, then alternate, then both on for 17 seconds) pointed the the opposite diaganol corner using variable speed port. I can share the program if you'd like. NO DETRITUS:))) I used marco cement to make flat frag holders to cover the bottom of the tank by pouring the cement on a flat surface on plastic and putting frag plugs in. You have to take the frag plugs off before they harden. THe plastic easily comes off later. They are great because you don't have the shiny bottom appearance. If you are going to go barebottom I would say go very high intermittent flow, set up an auto water change, and age your dry rock a few months before adding any LPS OR SPS. I do AWC at 2 gallons a day and it has made a big difference. I use a lot of bioballs in my sump as well. I am trying the ice cap algae scrubber so I can stop buying GFO. Make sure you seen your tank with some Microbacter 7 or equivalents. I have had no issues with algae, diatoms.... I get aptasia outbursts every now and then, but who doesn't?? Also, you may get bigger alkalinity swings going barebottom so test often. After 6 months it really stabilizes (especially with AWC).

Took this picture yesterday of my current favorite acan. I have been using Zeovit Pohl’s Extra Special and Coral Vitalizer. Corals are coloring up real nice.
