Upgrading tank, can I reuse my relatively new sand

Hi all, about to upgrade from a 55 gallon to a 120. Tank has only been cycled for two months and is stocked with two clowns, a Kole tang, two shrimp and a hermit. Would it be safe to transfer my existing sand or do I need all new sand?

I'd certainly reuse it. After catching all the livestock in your current tank, remove the rocks and then stir the sand well to "rinse" it a bit.

Ok, I like the idea of rinsing it haha. I had just heard of gasses being released from under the bed but if I’m not reusing much or any of the water then I guess that doesn’t really matter

The problem with trapped gasses - hydrogen sulfide - can be an issue with long established tanks, not one that’s just 2 months old.
