Currently, I have two tanks that contain Anemones. The first is a 125-gallon tank with sump for a total of 145 gallons. In this tank, the Anemones seem healthy except for their size; they are grossly under-inflated and have been this way since being placed in the tank. This is what they look like:

The second tank is a total of 25 gallons between tank and sump. And this is what the Anemones in this tank look like:

I have attached my water test results for the 125-gallon. The only difference in the water quality of the 125 and the 25 is that the 125 has no detectable nitrates, while the 25 gallon tank has nitrates of 20.

I've been supplementing https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/neon...D=4575&indexName=brs_prod_m2_default_products. in effort to get my nitrates up. Since starting this, I've developed some algae on the back of the tank, but my nitrates are only at 1.

I've also pulled my protein skimmer and all mechanical filtration, but still my nitrates are not coming up.

Not to mention that I don't know if lack of nitrates is the issue with the Anemones in question.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Dom

The anemones look good. Its not6 always do bubble-tips inflate. The concern is color and eating and yours look ok other than the typical bulbs we often by them to enjoy

So you're saying that this could be normal?

I was thinking about moving them to the 25 and see if they inflate. This would be a good way to tell if it was water quality.

You carnt second guess them
In the photo they look fine . The only things to watch out for are gaping mouth for a length of time. Not able to foot anything and bits dropping off them . My nems close up at night and open up during the day . I feed them once a week with mysis and look to see if there eating. Yours look healthy and happy .
Dom is your nitrate 0
My nitrate is 10 and phosphate 0.03
I’ve read a lot of people saying nems like some nitrate and phosphate this only my experience with them

Yes, I've read the same. It is why I've pulled my protein skimmer and started adding Nitro. I'd like to get my Nitrates up to 20, which is where the 25 gallon tank currently sits.
