Hi everyone
I have set a native cold water nano tank from the uk coast line I just thought the fish shop is right at my door why not use it . I have been jumping rock pools and finding grate creatures all over the place when moving stones in theses pool . The tank I’ve used is a 34L fluval flex all in one so a small amount of water. Everything seems to be running good at the moment I could do with a small chiller to keep the temperature down and stable but I had my hands in some rock pools today and they were quite warm surprisingly. Cold water marine is all new to me at the moment to the basic method of keeping marine tank going are the same .
So tank content
Snails x 9
Hermit crabs x2
Anemone x1
Shrimps tiny x4
Blenny x 1
Sea lettuce x1
Kelp X1
And more but look nice but don’t know the names yet lol
So here is a look so far still got a long way to go . The only thing really good is everything inside the tank has cost me nothing. So more jobs to do tidying it up a bit and learning All comments welcome we can learn from each other . This thread will be updated as things hopefully progress

Hop down to Cornwall and find yourself one of these:

Would be a fun addition to an already very interesting project :D
That’s nice .
one thing I found out doing this there’s plenty of nice thing in rock pools in our uk coast lines and it’s free . Had crab it wasn’t a brown crab but the size of my hand yesterday thought about it and put it back in the pool . There are a lot of red nems on the rocks and they are very nice indeed will get a couple next time out

That is really, really awesome!! I live up in Scotland 20 miles west of Glasgow. Fairly close to the coast, it might be a fun way to expand the hobby!

We have a 650 l pond with windows in the garden which i have been toying around with turning from fresh- to saltwater. Koi gets too big in there you know.. :D

Might very well knick your idea if i can convince the missus to give up her Koi :D She is talking of a much bigger pond though with filter house and **** - appealing to the gear junkie in me! Save my soul!

Keep sharing, it's really interesting! Cheers!

Big tank in the house so you can sit and watch the tank the only thing is keeping temperature down chiller are 250 300 pounds that’s not for me I want a cheap opinion. The stuff I got yesterday probably in a shop would of been over £ 100 pounds you carnt beat it . Definitely in theses hard time and I actually see more movement in this tank than BTA tank . Good luck

Cool stuff.

My first ventures into saltwater were taking Massachusetts shorelife home and it would live shortly in my warm tank. Temperatures at the beach were usually mid 50's F....but you do get warm temps in tide pools. Off the Rhode Island coast we get tropical fish coming up with the gulf stream settling along the shoreline by late summer, makes me wonder what the upper tolerable range would be for local species.

Do you have killifish/mummichog/sheephead minnow type fish? They tend to be pretty hardy and some can have nice striped patterns.

I am starting to get into the uk fish . I only have the one pictured I was looking for nems and I turned a stone over and he was there . So that is my next thing to do. The only thing I am worried about is temp really I need a chiller but there big money this tank has 34L of water
