I wanted to do a pretty big update today with everything that's going on, but I can't hold it in any longer. We're going to show you the new wrasse.

At first he went down in this corner under the sponge and kinda half laid on his side, no fin movement. I was a little worried but I left him alone because he had good color and was breathing normal.

A little while later he started to move around just a little, but still stayed in place after moving with no fin movement.

Two hours in QT he started to get acclimated to his surroundings and move around a bit more. No signs of parasites or injury from shipping.... and he is absolutely beautiful.

Alright today's update is brought to you by @Scurvy, through him all things Kessil are possible. Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but I do know he's sufficiently redneck by the amount of tape he put on the boxes. ;Woot

Today is the day we light up the Deep Blue Sea. Yes that's right, LIGHTS! Ya see, I had happened to have some lights that Scurvy wanted, and he had happened to have some lights I wanted. So we worked out a reefer deal and a few days later we each had nused lights(there's that word again). So I'm betting you're wanting to see the tank lit up by those sexy Kessil lights about now... ok, I'll treat you.

This is probably my favourite color setting on the Kessil logic, which is 30% color. It might be somewhere around 14-15K... Kessils are a little backwards with their color mix... 30% color is actually 70% blue and 30% white(0% color is all blue). I have pics of all white and all blue also.

We also got a new power bar the other day, and because of night shift, my sump has looked like this all week... ;Nailbiting

We can't have that. Time to mount that power bar to the cabinet. I made a quick template to align the screws without having to get the tape measurer out and make a bunch of guesses and still get it wrong...

So we put the screws in the power bar and then pushed the cardboard template over the screws.

This gave us four little holes that will tell us exactly where to put our screws to have our power bar nice and neat tucked up in the corner.

Like this. Fit perfect the first time, and we tucked up all our cables all nice and neat.

Wait, where is that light coming from?

Yep, we went ahead and ordered the Ehopps Curve LED refugium light. Its tiny, its cute, it's bright and ITS BLUE! That's the most important thing. We're going to leave it turned off for now, no need in growing a bunch of nuisance algae in there before we even get chaeto.

So, the cycle is still in the same place it has been all week. I'm pretty sure I'm still producing ammonia with the rocks and there's still a piece of pretty ripe scallop in the fuge...

All about lights this week! Giddy up!! Oh that Kessil Blue shimmer... i can see it in your pics! My living room seems so ordinary now.

Great idea with the cardboard and power strip. Cant tell you how many useless holes Ive created over the years. Cool strip too, lotta room for the bigger plugs.

We are still waiting for that thing that's hardly ever done. When you set up a cliff hanger you really leave folks hanging.

So, this was the idea I had that I haven't seen yet.

3/4" PVC tunnel system under the substrate and worked into the rock scape... The entrances were going to point up, and the vertical one was going to be 3" up or so. The pukani rocks I got in had two natural tunnels in them already, so I decided to scrap the idea. It was going to take more rock to conceal the entrances than I had, and I came up with a scape I liked and I think will work fine. In a larger tank I'll try this again with more rock.

Can you post a pic of the Jebao controller you have for this tank? Found something you might like.
