Where as my LPS (euphyllia, candy canes, leptastrea) and softies (leathers, mushrooms, zoas) have thrived, my SPS not so much. Only my watermelon psammacora frag seems to be tolerant of the occasional phosphate spike. I think it's because my tank is only 5 months old and I still have some green film algae on the rocks that is slowly getting taken over by coraline algae. I would definitely get a few cheap frags before making any big investment. They are a lot harder in my experience
After reading y’all’s response I’m certainly going to wait until I get my system completely stable. I appreciate the feedback !

Just do your research and invest in equipment that won’t let you down. This tank is 4 months old, I’ve been growing acros in it at 2 months. I will say I have years of experience growing sps but, it’s possible if you study up!
