My np is out on most every phosphate test greater than 0.08ppm. Nitrate 2-4ppm. Would like tighter phosphate tests. Test results on phosphate are always either 0.04 or 0.05.

Nitrates have been spot on with Hanna checker. P04 is a complete fail. reads 0 consistently while Hanna is 0.1
There is a bunch of complaints on the Neptune forum with nothing but crickets from Neptune
What is the mini Trident design? In almost 2 years of running the Trident I only calibrated it once and it made things worse. I “calibrated” it to my own kits that I trusted (for some odd reason.)
Come to find out, my Trident was correct and my magnesium test was wrong. Then add in Randy’s whole no magnesium testing and I never cared about magnesium again. I simply had the numbers because the Trident has them. I never paid attention. I actually didn’t even care much for the calcium testing but it was always accurate enough for me. I’d rather have Alkalinity, Nitrate, and Phosphate as my big 3. Dose calcium in proportion to my alkalinity and all will be well. 380, 440, 500ppm….doesn’t matter.
My Trident never had issue in almost 2 years. The drawer sucks. I agree there. The lines get kinked way too easily with that design. Neptune really ought to look at the Mini Trident design going forward.
There are thousands upon thousands of Tridents in use. The issues are relatively small with all things considered.
Someone designed a 3d printed body to put the guts of the trident into that makes it into this. What is the mini Trident design?
I totally need one of these! My new Trident is gigantic! Thanks!Someone designed a 3d printed body to put the guts of the trident into that makes it into this.

I wish I could get a reading. They sent me a mother calibration solution and nothing. I even let them go so they read 0.11 on the Hannah and still nothing on the NP.I returned my NP. It was hot garbage. Nitrates were accurate. Phosphate .04-.06 off in every single test.

I have 2 NP units, neither have readings even come close to Hanna phosphate or nitrate HR checkers…I use two other manual test kits and even purchased the Hanna calibration solution and they all read very close vs the nonsense coming from the NP.

In fact one unit has never read Nitrate: “ Bad NO3 Range”
…. Neptune support employees are top notch but I’ve yet to actually solve any Trident issue short of sending the Units back …

What's your manual calibration procedure for the NP?I said what I meant and meant what I said. I'm not the only one who feels this way. To be sure that I wasn't losing my mind I sent six bottles of calibration solution for testing. All six bottles were way off. Ever since I've been doing my own calibration my tridents have been accurate. When using the supplied calibration fluid they've been off. I don't need you to tell me what I need to say.
can you explain how you "re-calibrated with my manual tests"?New-ish Trident user here. I bought a 6-month batch of reagents and eventually noticed the calibration liquid. I didn't use it initially because I wasn't paying close attention...I used Hanna and SF tests for Alk, Ca, and Mag, and then I did my calibration. Things were looking good, but then I noticed the calibration bottle. Thinking I messed up, I did the calibration with the bottle, followed by a test afterward, and it was way off from the last Trident result, which was 3 hours previously.
I did another manual test and confirmed that the calibration bottle had messed up my test results. I re-calibrated with my manual tests, and all seemed well. Five days later, I did another manual test to compare to how my Trident was testing, and it was almost spot-on.
In short, I agree that the calibration liquid is trash. A local fragger who works from his house also said he never trusts them because when he got his first Trident, it was always off until he re-calibrated it to his manual tests.

Once you test with Hanna, etc., record your values. Then use your tank water as the "calibration solution".
