As the addiction grows, I couldn't let this little guy get lost in all the Golden torches at the store and brought him home to the garden...

So do all you guys with these torches keep your lights on nothing but blue all the time? I have spent some major money lately and have collected just about every morph but the Holy Grail and none of them except the green ones look like anything with any kind of white light at all. Most just look brown.

from my understanding, similar to plants, coral's florescence, coloration, and growth are all best effected by the 400-500 rage on the spectrum.

Therefore why you see most coral shops and stores running their DT Tanks under lots of blues. And why a lot of reefers at home as well.

This isn't fact checked, just my basic understanding. Hope it can give you some guidance to figure out what you need to do for your own corals.

The point was that it is kindof disappointing to have spent this kind of cash and they all look brown unless you have nothing but blue lights on. The acros have to have the bright white so you have a bunch of brown torches down at the bottom. They do look great in the evening when the white goes away.

Trust coral labs that grow corals....

Trust fellow reefers that have the same lights as you....

Ask the vendor or reefer what schedule they run...

Blues always make corals look amazing but whites are needed I do believe;)

me and many other reefers have torches and acros under predominantly blue lighting just fine.

ive never heard acros have to have bright whites? Maybe for faster growth? But I think they grow just find under blues.

So, another question. Do you guys feed your torches? I sound like a newb but Im not, I just have never kept torches before. I tried feeding mine and they did not eat, they just let the pieces of shrimp go. My welsos on the other hand open up to look like a giant vagina with teeth and suck down some giant pieces of shrimp. My elegances are pigs.

Here is my tank at 90% blue and 8% white. I run these %’s 6 hours a day. Lots of variation in colors that my poor photography skills will never capture.

Here is 90/20. Camera doesn’t capture well, but torch coloration looks poor in my opinion.

Here is 90/50. Again a bit hard to tell from the photos, but at this point it looks like I have 2 types of torches....green and brown.

Hey guys I have a question. I recently purchased a gold torch coral but I’m having issues with the torch opening. My parameters are good and the weird thing is I have 7 other torches doing fine but that one

My Gold Torch. It was suppose to be a NY Knicks but it does not have much green in the center if any. Nevertheless it is a really beautiful Gold Torch. Doing very well. Was not healthy when I first got it with no tissue down the side. Since it habce grown about 1/8 inch tissue cover the side of the skeleton.
