I have a pistol shrimp. He’s moved them once but he didn’t grab the coral itself he grabbed the frag plug.Do you have a crab or any other inverts or fish that might be nipping or pinching it?
Kind of looks like he grabbed thos tenticals.I have a pistol shrimp. He’s moved them once but he didn’t grab the coral itself he grabbed the frag plug.
Could the flow be bothering them? I did have to move them a couple times a turbo snail kept knocking them over.Kind of looks like he grabbed thos tenticals.
Thats the only one you have seen him grab.
Flow won't cause the pinched look you have.Could the flow be bothering them? I did have to move them a couple times a turbo snail kept knocking them over.
Ye idk I don’t think it’s the crab but u might be correct. Could it be anything else? And do I need to move them maybe to low flow to heal?Thats the only one you have seen him grab.
They are out all night...im not saying its the %100 reason but crabs and shrimp are Jerks to corals lol
Low flow and light to heal is good.Ye idk I don’t think it’s the crab but u might be correct. Could it be anything else? And do I need to move them maybe to low flow to heal?
Tanks been up 4 months. Nitrate 10 phosphate 0 nitrite 0 ammonia 0 calcium 450 alkalinity 10 my magnesium is 1300 somethingFlow won't cause the pinched look you have.
I'd bet money your shrimp did it.
What are your parameters...your tank looks pretty new.
Okay I just haven’t had torches before and I just didn’t know if they are dying cause of the spots.Id say its healthy, if there was a problem it wouldn't be extended.
Its healthy but those pinch marks are not normal.Id say its healthy, if there was a problem it wouldn't be extended.
I actually just got some reef roids to feed my corals. These torches are newly fragged corals and I have had them only 4 days. They have fallen off the rocks maybe twice. I have moved them far oppposite side of the tank from the pistol shrimp. I’m just gonna monitor them to see if they get better. He doesn’t leave his home if so not even close to the other side he gets scared very easy from my six line and darts back in.From what I learned here With alk and cal that high you should try to get your phos up to around .05-.1 while keeping nitrates around 10-20. You can naturlly raise phos by feeding reef roids to the corals a couple days a week.
Your tank is still new so just stay on keeping those numbers consistent.
Please take this all with a grain of salt as every reefer is different.
