How long have you had this torch?
What size is the tank?
What light do you have?
Have you fed the torch?
Do you have iodine or antibiotics?
What are all your parameters ?

From your new information it sounds like it’s been declining for a few days. Once it starts it progresses rapidly. This is a poorly cut frag with an underdeveloped head and fleshband. The branch needed months more growth before it was cut

In future you want a solid trunk with a straight cut across short way. Not a skinny trunk that was cut longways.

Look for a nice solid fleshband where the trunk meets the torch base. Pics were provided earlier as an example

You can not put a tang and a fox face in a 20 gallon. The fox face can be very aggressive in a small tank.

These fish require 75gallon as a minimum

Can you post a full tank photo

You have some form of issue because you have cyano algae all on the sandbed

They are there for temporary housing while trying to sell them. When the fish get larger or aggressive they will move to a bigger tank until it sells.

The fox face will become more and more aggressive as it grows in a 20g tank

The tang will become more and more stressed as it grows and stress leads to ich and sickness. Tangs will get sick just from stress and then your whole tank will have issues.

Neither of these fish are good for a 20g tank for more than a few months before problems are likely to arise

OP, unfortunately when a torch has been dragged very recently the wrong way they look good for a few days and then take a turn for the worse very suddenly. Torches are also extremely sensitive to alkalinity issues and if your alkalinity is 11.2 dkh in a small tank like that I would question how stable it is and how much it is swinging. I agree with comments that the fox face and tang need to go back to the LFS, a 20 gallon is nowhere near enough at all.

Need all parameters. Not "they are good"

4 days owned but you fed a week ago? Not following this logic.

No tang or foxface will be happy in a 20g. For the sake of living animals, please return to the LFS or rehome.

My personal take on the first pic;
Fresh cut down the split. Not a good way to frag. I wouldn't be surprised if there were micro cracks leading up into the head.

Sorry op.

For the future, look for perpendicular cut frags. Look for flesh bands under the head that are continously surrounding the head.

My torch coral four days ago. It looked so good
I wouldn't call it looks so good. Remember, just because the torch is opening doesn't mean they are healthy/in good condition. This torch was fragged when it shouldn't have been.

You really need your params and tank conditions to be stable before putting in torches. You have cyano everywhere in the tank. The fish may not have helped, but IMO your tank just wasn't ready for the torches yet with the picture you posted and info you shared. What you were seeing was the coral declining in health due to your tank water params. Start with easier beginner corals first and make sure they are thriving and growing before going on the next step.

LFS keeps those fish temporarily in those tanks. Doesn't mean they are suitable for your 20g. LiveAquria is a good start to look for fish tank size suitability although they are not always 100% correct.

Hi. I have been keeping the torch for three weeks now. The four days ago thing was just the day before it got worse.

Hi. I think there is no saving the torch now but I would like to know exactly what caused this. Also my LFS say that right now with my current tank inhabitants, I could still add another tang and a few small fish. But I dont know who is right.

You were sold a torch that was not properly fragged. That was the initial issue however based on how your tank looks with the Cyano on the sand bed your water quality may not yet be appropriate for torch coral. Also, that starfish is going to die on you. You need a very mature tank for them to do well and even then they tend not to.

Torches require very stable water parameters. You mentioned your dkh being 11.2 somewhere earlier in the thread, in a young system like that without knowing exactly what you’re doing that alone can be highly problematic.

The people in your LFS are telling you that you can add another tang to a 20 gallon? I am sorry but they’re telling you things they shouldn’t be to make a sale. You’ve been told this several times by others on this thread but continue to ask the question because it is easier to listen to people telling you what you want to hear but it’s not good for the animals and you’re going to end up with a lot of very stressed out/sick livestock in the short term and not having a good time in the hobby in general until you take a step back and add appropriate stock for the tank you have.
