Torch Coral Trouble

Hey guys,

I am relatively new to this whole reef aquarium setup and keeping. And I am very interested in Euphyllia, probably my favorite coral of all time. I just started keeping corals in my tank and I’ve noticed this very strange stuff growing what seems like INSIDE my torch coral... if it’s done for that’s alright but it was relatively cheap. Please if you know what this is and how to treat it I would much appreciate it, had no luck searching google

Yeah that’s why my friend who got me into reefing said. I actually did a bunch of research and came across yet only ONE other photo of it. I am led to believe it is the corals internal organs, except outside of the torch. I’m very confused I only got a couple sentence explanation but it seems to make sense. It was explained how or why just that the innards had gone outwards. Below are the picture which led to the other oddly formatted reef forum on what exactly it was. Middle of that paragraph you have then talking about a coral dip and someone replies “that was a bad idea, these are normal, and a part of the coral. (External digestive organs)”. Never seen this before, never heard this before yet somehow it seems to make the most sense. I’m new idk but I thought this would be a really cool anatomical discovery and share it with others who may have this issue later. I’m not sure how it’s surviving but I’ll provide some more pictures updated (under some PolypLab Lens) of how it’s doing. Thanks for everyone’s help.

Thanks, after you sent over those images I also did the same search to some deep portal on the web and it’s a stress response from the coral. They have actually retracted and all seems well but thank you again.
