Hey so my friends torch coral that she has isn't opening and we can't figure out why? Here are her parameters:
Calcium: 520 ppm
Mag: 50 ppm (we know its low)
Ph: 8.1
Nitrates: 10 ppm
Knowing that the mag is low she has been adding mag Bionic each day little by little but its still very low. We have Salifert test kits that we use for testing the water. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Yes its fairly new she started establishing it in early August. She didn't start putting corals in until recently like mid November. For temperature its 76-77 F and she will be getting new heater that is adjustable. For the other parameters I will let her know to test them and will post them once she does.

For now I would slowly up the temp to 78-79 degrees. Optimally you want your params to be SG 1.025 - 1.026, DKH 8.0 - 9.0, Cal 420 - 450, Mag 1280 - 1380 - these are just #s that have worked for me. Torches can be a love/hate type of thing of all the Euphyllias, I've had better luck with hammers & frogspawn.

I have my own torch corals and they are all out and about nice and healthy. So we will just get her to what I have parameter wise. Ill update a picture once it is better.

Careful you don’t have too much flow on it. You don’t want a power head directly pointing at it.
