I got this torch a couple weeks ago and it was doing great, but recently it hasn’t been. Yesterday I decided to dip it. Now it looks even more ticked. Its flesh/tissue looks like it has receded. Is there something causing this? Is there anything I can do?

Sorry to hear. Really nice torch! Is it a HG? Could be hungry…what’s the nitrate and phos running? Did you see anything in the dip? Flatworms?

Iodine has always helped my euphylia bounce back from any recession. Had an emerald crab that got a taste for them. Can’t say for certain if it was iodine or just time without the emerald’s harassment but it definitely seemed to speed up the process. There’s obviously some sort of underlying cause (could be too much flow if no pest were identified), but iodine would be a good place to start for building back healthy flesh. I have always used Lugols Solution with good success

That stuff can help and is all included in a good ole KFC dip, along with ammox, cipro, and chemiclean if you really need to cure BJD or RTN. However I would need to test parameters and figure out what’s happening before continuing to dip and irritate.

Thank you it’s a 24k gold torch. My nitrates are 8ppm and my phos is .07ppm. No I didn’t see anything in the dip

Yes I have heard that iodine is good for torches. I’ll have to try it out thanks.

There’s a lot of tissue recession on this guy. Something that can help with torches is adding restor to the tank. It’s a supplement that helps fleshy LPS.
It honestly didn’t have much tissue to start with. I’ll check Restor out thanks.

Sometimes torches just bail out. Here the KFC recipe if you decide to go full force. Probably a good idea to start slow with restore and then if not improved…KFC
