I like most of all that it has built in doser heads. That or the 12v dc outs from it for small pumps. I will do a lot to save a plug...
the shopping spree (can I use it next winter for a beach vacation?), the kessil, this one, then the AI kit. In that order.
Maybe this higher... tough call.

I'd honestly love the shopping spree but if I put a controller on my tank that allows me to be just a little lazier without compromising the tank, that's a win.

I already have a full Apex system and I don't mind the programming as it's what I do for work anyways. That being said I do like the integrated dosing pumps into the core unit. Smart move on Hydros.

@BlaineTopShelfAquatics My tank is only 5 months old and very streamlined on equipment; however as a very new reefer that IV Station add-on is what would convince me to try more complicated equipment. Not to mention space is at a premium and that setup is very compact! Hope I win it on the R2R contest and also win the tour! Your prizes are just too good to want only one!
I get that. But it's more tech for me to learn and more to buy (that said, I'm now going to put together a $1k cart to see what it can cover).

the x10 (from the video), leak sensor, and ato are $920. I didn't see salinity probes or other testing probes, but they could be added too.
@TopShelfAquatics do you have the stand alone salinity probes? what about other testing probes, or the testing station from the video (i forgot the name)?

my goodness, this thing looks amazing. I've been avoiding the Apex for various reasons, but work is beginning to demand more time away from the tank so I'll need something to keep it running on it's own. This seems like the perfect tool for the job!!

I'm probably against the grain of most people, I think it is a pretty cool piece of equipment but that is where it stops. I'm very into tech too. Knowing details of every little thing and tying them together and getting them to work with one another is right up my ally.
I see a single point of failure, and if you have everything tied into it and it fails, everything goes down.
1 year warranty for for an $800 piece of equipment is pretty low and not impressive.
I'm not saying it is bad overall, it's neat, but not for everyone.
