I knew you had it, I was luckily mentored by Don Miller, he was an OG TOTQ on Zeovit. I was lucky for personalized guidance, and to see that reef before teardown. This is 2005ish...lol

That mulm though, just switch arms, beast mode bra!!!

I can honestly say I’ve never really paid to much attention to it over the years, just saw some amazing tanks.. it always seemed like a lot of work and hassle and I didn’t have the time to play with it.. I gotta say now that I’m much older I got more patience and love to play with the tank haha! I’ve always looked up to sunny x and followed his programs such as vodka and mb7 and that’s been my go to over the years.. after seeing 4.0 and his crazy growth over 1 year with the stones and reactors I figured why not!!! We’ll see what happens here..

This was a maricultured colony I picked up that decided to stn on me after a couple days ugh… I managed to save a couple frags of it and glad I did! This is gonna be a real stunner! I’ve never seen a acro with such a deep, rich blue besides the Oregon tort. Of course it was brown when I got it but it’s been about 2 months since the stn event.

Added a second 4k gyre… I don’t think I needed it but I got it in a trade for some frags and at some point I will when these acros really fill in… I’m pretty happy with the flow and confident I won’t need any other flow on the viewing end of the peninsula which makes me happy! I was stressing not drilling the tank for a closed loop before I filled up because I didn’t want wires or a wave maker on that end… flow now is provided by a Jaebo return at 90% pushing about 2500gph, two mp40’s running at 80% and two ice cap gyre 4K running on a hydros wave engine.. I’m pushing around 15,000gph currently and crank it up to 20,000 or so..

Mo flow mo problems.. ugh… csb is on the walk abouts! Aaaaaaahhhhhhh! Lol.. came home yesterday and he had swiped a couple acros and was battling with my 24k torch… I got everyone moved out of the path of destruction to only wake today and see it moved again about a foot! Won’t be home for about 12 hours so hopefully no more destruction or a csb in gyre :grimacing-face:

Well this is fun! My ph has dropped a lot since it’s gotten super hot out here in Vegas “house is locked up” and I went zeo… it’s been any where from 7.8-8 at best.. bought some ice cap scrubber media and grabbed a water bottle and drilled a few holes just to see what would happen before I went all out and made or bought a fancy co2 scrubber.. 8pm last night my ph was 7.85 and in 7 hours it’s sitting at 8.18. Guess I know what I’ll be doing now lol… I’d guess it’s gonna sky rocket when the lights come on today. Ps the nem looks good besides it’s got no tentacles… rrrrr..

Doing the same thing, lol. Works like a champ, just not the cheapest solution. Amazing build!
Yeah I hear ya… I wanna run a line outside but in this heat I think it will heat my tank to much.. all spring my ph was 8.3-8.4 when I could open the house up.. that might be my next thing is crack a window with the line outside and see how much of a rise I get and how much my temp increases… my skimmer is massive and pulls a ton of air so I’m sure my temps will rise and I’m already hitting 81 during my photo period ugh… and thanks for the kind words! I’m sure will cross paths some time out here Vegas isn’t that big lol.

Couple thoughts on the outside air skimmer line. My skimmer turned into a heater pulling in 100+ degrees last year. Now with that said, my line was only 6 feet. Maybe a longer run would have time to cool off from the ambient indoor temp before getting to the skimmer.

That’s a good thought.. mine would only be 4-5ft it’s self… I guess you could coil like 20ft or something inside the stand before going to the skimmer… hmmmmm my skimmer pulls so fast I don’t think that would be enough unless the line was chilled with like a ziplock full of ice on it… rrrr… I’ll see how long this media lasts and make a decision off of that.

And that Strat!!! I’m a bit of a Zoa nut, but haven’t had the courage to make that purchase.
Grabbed that from vihn to grow out and trade for sticks lol.. I don’t do Zoas myself I’m a stick head.

I bought a used Icecap co2 scrubber to hopefully raise my ph. I’m seeing it sit at 7.7-7.9 most days. With a smaller tank I hope the media isn’t going to burn too quickly.
I have 2-5 people in my house at all times “depends if kids are with us or not” and 2 very large labradors that sleep next to the tank lol.. I knew co2 was issue but didn’t know it was that bad.. the humidity in my house is running 53% currently… I need to open the doors and air it out but when I get home it’s 115° and my ac units can’t even keep up as it is..
