It’ll Be a sad sad day when I finally pull the trigger on the trap on the vlamingi. That’s the best dog I have had except for the dogs that I have.
By the way auto correct for a vlamingi comes out flamingo every time.
You’re hilarious my friend.

Thank you everyone! Catching it at night is almost impossible since he sleeps next to a rock and I don't have good eyes esp. when it's dim. Fish trap is something new for my and I definitely will consider it.

What do you guys use to put food( incl small pellets) through the hole? A coral feeding baster? I saw a 24 in. Skimz baster but not sure if I can use it to feed small soaked pellets. By the way I like norfolk's idea of a new hole further back.
Does the Tang eat nori from a clip?

If so, it's pretty easy. Remove your clips and put them in the back of the box. Feed normally for a few days and they will get used to going in to eat. When you are ready, set your trap and get it!

Back here in 2024 because I need to catch a tomato clown I think.. totally forgot I commented in this one.. It's day 3 after a major move of all my fish from the 100G into a 300G (96x30x23) and the tomato jumped right into the two bta's I have on the far right... I have a pair of ocellaris in there and if the female comes to the right side the tomato chases her across the tank then zooms back to the nem... but not every time.. it's early into this change, it doesn't happen every time and the tomato seems to give up on that after about 3pm... and all night... only started up once the white lights came on these past couple of days... aside from that ocellaris it's not interested in anything but the nem...

the tomato is super pretty and I love watching it motor boat the BTAs in what looks like fish bliss... so the jury is out but eyebrows are raised for sure.

I think getting rid of the agressor is the best idea if this keeps up or gets worse.. but I just moved 8 fish into the tank with 10 fish in it.. so there's a ton of activity in the tank.. I have a TON of rock work, nice hiding places... these Ocellaris only seem interested in swimming in one corner or another.. right now the little male has unfortunately picked the right side where the BTAs are and the tomato.... If he just picks the other side I think they'll be ok sharing the 8 foot tank.

Oh lol. Ok. I thought maybe some kinky thang.. ;)

News flash.. I caught both Ocellaris just now and put them in my old 100G with the six line. Just netted them.. they were tired. I’m seriously thinking about turning this into a nem tank with clowns… maybe.. it’s super nice having an alt tank.. but idk..

I've had lots of experience catching fish easily :)...

Corral the fish you want to catch to the far side of the tank... Use eggcrate and divide the tank to trap the fish into the smaller side... then move some rocks from the smaller side and put it into the larger side... Push the egg crate to make the short side even smaller. Keep doing that until its easy to catch the fish you want. Only takes a few minutes but it does require you to move some rocks around. Some tanks have an easy spot to put the egg crate and you dont have to move fish at all.
