The labor shortage is more like a wage shortage issue. Companies complain they can't find people to fill jobs, while at the same time offering pay that doesn't match the drastic price of living increase. I get a dozen unsolicited job offer on LinkedIn every week, 90% of the time I laugh at what they are offering. Skills and experience take time to acquire. And, over that time I went from having to support myself to having a family to support, which is getting more expensive by the day.
This! Seriously... Also in a lot of unsolicited job offers come to me in my field, (fairly subset part of aviation). I occasionally will bother with a reply to see what the industry is offering, haven't seen anything worth while in 8 years. I deal with my competitors on a daily basis as a chunk of my work is contracted out now, and the contractors are always asking me "are you hiring".

I used to work for Pepsico. When you are buying chips, you are buying them by weight not volume. The air is blown into the bag right before the bags are sealed to protect the product in shipping. It is to alleviate consumer complaints about crushed product, it is not some grand conspiracy. You may not believe that the people at these companies actually care about consumer complaints, but they do because they are part of the calculation for bonuses.
I have no ill will towards the employees at all but I'm old enough to remember when there were actually cheese puffs in my bag too.

To be considered- there are coupon codes out there but the question is 15% off of what pricing. . . .. Everyday pricing or the ones just increased before coupon went out.

I agree with you except people flippin fries in the fryer are asking for 100k a year now too.

Ive seen what's going on and have been tracking various vendors to try to stick with one or two as there are so many out there.
For me- NONE !!! I will buy from private parties or patiently wait for other RAP and MACNA shows.
Over the last 18 weeks, prices have gone up 36-39% with certain vendors (cant say names) and THESE SO CALLED BLACK FRIDAY AND XMAS DEALS are a joke- prices have jumped to as much as 50%.
MERRY XMAS TO THE VENDORS BECAUSE ITS NOT US !!
BE CAREFUL FOLKS AND NOT JUMP ON SOMETHING VIA IMPULSE BUT SHOP CAREFULLY. These 10%-20% off are merely off increased prices- Such a Shame !!

I owned an LFS and realize mark-up, profit margins and expenses but would not do this to my customers who work hard for their money. Very disappointed (but not fooled)
I noticed that when I had a cart full waiting for payday, half of the stuff went on sale, and the tital is the same lol

Black Friday "deals" have not been deals for years. Normally vendors/retailers start marking stuff up going into holiday seasons, then offer discounts on say black Friday that still are a markup from prices 6 months previous. It's a scam basically from greedy businesses who have zero moral compass and explains why everything is so expensive
This is true in a lot of cases, but more common in retail with tech, is the product manufactured only to be a black friday item, almost every laptop and TV are skus only available for those sales.

I think prices also got jacked up during covid when many people were spending their stimulus checks. Every time one came out, my inbox was full of local people wanting to buy frags. Now the demand has dropped and retailers have kept prices high. I have very little demand now (despite the fact that I’m very conscientious about pricing) and another local guy and I were talking about how many sps frags we just have to throw away due to overgrowth.

As far as Black Friday pricing, I think it’s always been a gimmick. The only real deals are on closeout/end of year models when the manufacturer slashes the prices on their end.

I've gotten 2 battle boxes, and they were worth every penny. Unfortunately, my BTAs have moved all the way up yp where they were and I lost a few.
After the holidays I will absolutely be placing a new order. Adam, still have my shirt ready?!? Lol
For real though, @Battlecorals Sends some huge pieces and he will customize your pack with the types of sps you feel comfortable with and works with you and your systems.
Only vendor who I have worked with that wants to know your experience level, and takes into consideration all types of factors and the most communication I've ever experienced.

I do! And the good news is I gotten way better at actually making them the last couple months! I’m cranking out a bunch to give out next week after my own……gulp…..black….er……..um… Friday sale.

I APPRECIATE THE COLLABORATION AND RESPECT SHOWN BY MEMBERS WITH EACH OTHER ON THIS DISCUSSION AND SEEING EVERYONE'S EXPERIENCES WITH PRICING- THIS IS WHAT MAKES THIS COMMUNITY WHAT IT IS !!

I thinks its safe to say, we also now recognize what is happening and will be smarter shoppers recognizing some of the issues we are facing.

That's the issue with living here! You need 100k a year to function, lol. Unless your in the central valley or north of Sacramento.
Totally agree but we all remember our first jobs. I was running my tail off at 15 at a full service gas station and then moved on to my dream job at the burger shack making $1.95 per hour. I never once considered this my lifetime career job but we have a whole generation now that thinks they should be paid big money to flip burgers. The cost of this is passed on to consumers and you are already seeing these entry level teenage jobs disappearing now with these electronic kiosk ordering and robotic fry flippers now.
