In my experience, they are normally fine to be near one another. I keep several platy's and favia's near one another, but none of them are quite touching yet. I'm sure TG can give better guidance though.

Yeah. I'm always surprised that mine haven't started stinging each other. I have my platy's and favias within a few inches of one another, but they are on frag plug stands that sit in the sand, so it will be super easy to spread them out some more if they do realize they are next to an enemy. lol
