I recently got the Icecap 38gallon AIO aquarium, and the newly released Icecap cabinet with it. My problem has become that the stand wobbles just slightly. I've already tightened the panel screws and took it apart to ensure all the pin and cams were also tightened correctly. It is the stand itself that wobbles, not the floor (although my floors are terribly uneven, I have shims for that) and I loaded about 50lbs worth of weight inside the tank to see if it evens down, it still wobbles the same.
Front to back is rock solid. It is only side to side.

The only thing I have not done is install the doors on the front, I kind of didn't want to but I also don't believe the doors would offer any structural integrity other than weight.

So to ME this looks like I'm getting hit by an earthquake that hits a level 8 on the Richter scale. I'm looking for some less dramatic opinions.

Here is a PDF of the directions for the stand. They are 'universal' directions, so the picture is for the 45gal stand. The 38g looks like one half of the final product.

I'm thinking a 1"x4" plank diagonal across the back with some basic wood screws would be enough to reinforce and remove the wobble.

This is what I did with 1x4, didn’t completely remove all the wobble but it definitely helped

Ooo that's smart. I ended up making a diagonal brace, which did the job perfectly. Rock solid. Apparently this specific stand is plagued by the wobbles, which is a shame. I love how clean it looks and the 38g is the only nice looking 24x24 cube I've found that's affordable. A couple of the retailers I reached out to said they wouldn't be ordering anymore of the 38 stands because of how many had issues with it wobbling.
