Just wondering how other reefers feel on the topic of burning incense in same room with aquarium.

Personally, I see too many conflicting arguments. I have my tank in my bedroom (20 foot by 15 foot) and I'd like to burn it across the room. Roughly 15 feet away. I know spraying airfreshener could introduce toxins and cigarettes aren't a good idea either. But what about "cleaner" smoke like an incense?

My tank has a canopy AND glass covering the roof of the tank and a semi closed stand with open top sump. What do you think?

I would say no to anything that creates scent or puts anything in the air especially in a small confined space. I removed my scent plugs and won’t light anything in my room anymore because of my tanks. Anything we light or spray pollutes the air and if in the same room or near it will end up in the tank inevitably and could be deadly.

If something in your home smells bad enough that you want to cover it up, maybe remove the thing instead. Otherwise you're bound to wind up with the smell version of that thing where the music in a restaurant is up too loud, so people talk loudly to be heard, so they turn up the music louder, and so on.

That thing is my dog. 10 years young with the butt of a old man eating purely beans and broccoli and I wouldn't trade him for the world

Just keep it as far away as you can, maybe open windows when you burn, maybe run carbon, just pay close attention to the tank

Carbon takes out smells.
Skimmer takes out toxins.
Live your life and enjoy your tank. What happens after you eat a bunch of beans? Do you go outside for a couple hours? Just sayin'

Don’t see any issues with it. I use a smoker as well and if your not careful with an open window…..
