What do nems need. Lots of open space to roam. You to have a strong ability to stay calm when they go for a walk. Steady numbers. They like options until they settle and options when they want more space from their splits.

Nem guards so they don’t become sushi.

100+ par but really it’s up to the nem.

They don’t need to be fed. The clown will eventually steal food to feed them.

Once they settle all is good. I love my nems but sometimes I want to get the newspaper out because after they split so many times they wanted to spread out more and I really like my other corals.

Let’s try again asking in the right place.

What would a BTA need?
My maroon in the other tank would love another one.

Edit: and now you’ve answered me over there :face-with-tears-of-joy:
My BTAs seem to be happy and growing around 300. But my light schedule is like this:

So they get some rest periods between the intense peaks.

Thanks all. Would be a good way to contrast the GSP. Just have to see whether the fluval marines can get anywhere near 100 par
I thought you had AI blades. The Fluval Marines are not very powerful. Is this the strip or puck? Not sure about the pucks, but the strips only have 0.25watt LED chips with very wide spread. Does a nice job lighting up the tank but horrible for PAR. The small chips also have poor penetration, as opposed to the 3watt and 5watt chips some lights use.

If it is a parwise, they underestimate PAR. If not, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It is parwise. By how much?

This is for the other tank. I do have the partially melted AI primes I could add. And you are right about the fluval lights though I have to say they at least have a better range of colors then the blades.

If I turn the fluvals up to like 90% I’m getting like 120 on my tallest rocks. So should be good
Just remember. Anemones do not read the rule books. They make them.

When i had my first bta. She/he favored no light. As acclimation went on. Eventually up to 50 par, then 100, kept on favored rock and hung out at 150. But, lots of linear flow.

I added an inferno. The inferno wanted the main btas spot. Fight broke out. Inferno go sick, bta got sick both ended up dead.

Tl:dr

If your nem cant stay still. Might be time for more light and or flow.

Agreed! With BTAs you just do your best to set up shop for them and hope they like it. Adjust as needed. I think that having a very knobby rock is extremely helpful.

They really are.
This center rock is mostly nooks and crannies.

I see you have a pest issue. Hope it isn’t smothering your BTA?

The things my sister assumes I know. Is it because I’m in this hobby or because I work at the EPA?
IMG_1101.png

For explanation my sister just bought a farm that shares a small lake with several other people.

I forgot the obvious solution which is of course a ton of salt, a few dragon wrasse and a Mexican turbo or two. Clear up both of her issues in a second.

So just looked at my personal YouTube and my most watched video has 40,000 views. Knowing what I know about YouTube that’s enough to earn me a pretty penny. Perhaps even two pretty pennies. That’s like 0.02 cents (I’m told the prettiness of the penny does not matter unfortunately). Not bad (depending on your definition of bad). Of course that’s just down to that video being mentioned on a real YouTubers video.

I’m very bored if you can’t tell (had to run up to NC for work and am now stuck in a hotel doing nothing in the middle of nowhere for the 4th of July….
fuck yeah GIF
