Thinking About a new jebao power head. Will probably get a big one and then move the SCP-90m from my eel tank and put it on the far side of this tank. Question is what GPH for a 6 foot tank?

3300 for another 90m
4600 for 120m
7500 for 150
9600 for 180
Any chance a really big one would suck in fish or something?

I always but the biggest one I can justify and run it at a lower setting. I've heard but can't confirm that it's better for DC motors to run at 60-65% or below for longevity. True or not I'd rather have the bigger one in case I upgrade.
Yes they can suck in fish. It can happen at any size.

Doing a quick read through and a glance at their video it looks almost exactly the same though I love how BRS calls the gyres the budget option at almost twice the price

I started with a Jump on one side of my 3ft tank, then upgraded to a pair of used xf330s, where sadly only one worked. Can't wait to switch to something else. They are great at moving sheets of water. Their performance drops significantly the longer you go between cleanings. If I had to do gyres again, I'd go with dual Jebaos.

Also maxspect have lost some points with me with this skimmer and the reviews on their power heads aren’t great. Terrible WIFI interface apparently.

I have hated every WiFi device I’ve bought. Bluetooth or manual for me

Well it’s usually a direst Chinese rip off but this time the maxspect looks to have copied the Chinese.

Maxspect Jump = IceCap Gyre = AI orbit. Same exact thing dressed up a little different.

I thought maxspect was a Chinese company. And weren’t they the ones that really brought the gyre style to the market? I wasn’t really keeping up with the tech when they got normalized so I could be wrong

I believe Maxspect was bought by CoralVue, licences out their Jump gyre tech to IceCap and apparently now also licensed out to AI. I think they've kept their xf330 and xf350 to themselves, though.

Yellow 1 ml per gallon unless you want to add more
