If anyone in the continental US is looking for a good deal on a diamond tail flasher
(just updated to free shipping today)

Dang, if only I was over there. Maybe one day I’ll own a truly rare wrasse.

There needs to be a #wrassenerds, like a Bat Signal, that alerts all you peoples I regularly tag in random "what kind of wrasse should I get", etc. threads.

Second H. chrysus that was shipped in sand came out and looks alive, although freaking out a bit.

Now looks like 2 H. chrysus alive (for time being), one M. bipartitis DOA and one M. bipartitis praying for a miracle.

Notifications have really been hit or miss lately for me. I've been getting bumped off threads a lot too.

My babi looked worse than that and came in water in low 60s. As long as salinity and temp matched she may do fine.
She's acting weird. Temp/Salinity matched. Drained out the water from the bag, cut off the top and dropped the bag into the tank. Will fish out the plastic bag later. It is now swimming back and forth and was putting herself next to the overflow:

Not great photos. Was hard to get good ones from the floor. Right now the "sandbag" H. chrysus is still in its sandbag on the floor of the tank (I can see its little eye looking out). The "black bag" H. chrysus is in the cloudy part of the tank or buried itself. And the M. bipartitis is no longer swimming laps at the top of the tank and list in the cloud.

Looks scared to me. I suggest turning off lights and leaving it alone for a while. Still much healthier then I feared.

Gone into the sand or under a rock, now. All three are in the sand, now. I dumped a bit of baby brine shrimp in, just because it's time to dump and restart the hatchery, but everyone's staying put.

This gal is super cute with her nose sticking out:

What's the hex grid on the edges of your tank?

I need to rant.

Pet peeves
Wrasse are fragile
Wrasse are poor shippers
Wrasse don’t like meds and hates copper and many other saying past on over the years. As it is sorta true it’s not.
Wrasse ship fine. Over 50 plus wrasse and my losses are from me or buying certain wrasse from places I know fish has little chance. Never lost a wrasse during meds and never had them not eat with meds. Most eat med food fine but some will take a few days and eat what is needed to keep weight. They eat if healthy and not to stressed.
I will say for high success rate there is special needs a wrasse needs. Won’t go in to details as I’ll end the rant here.
For years I was told I can’t keep potters, choats and the list goes on. Not only have I kept them but also it was first try

We blame fish because we don’t give proper care on its journey to us
