Was filming a couple of the garden eels eating and got a bit of footage of the Paracheilinus angulatus finally!

It’s not often that I see photos or videos of someone’s tank and feel genuinely jealous.

That tank is freakin cool. Very, very cool.

Do you ever have to worry about aggression? It looks like everyone is just hanging out peacefully, but those clownfish ever act up?

No major aggression. Sometimes the jawfish bury the garden eels, or swoop out at them open mouthed, making them retreat into their burrows, but nothing major. The blue flasher is definitely the boss and displays all the time, so the royal tends not to display as much. Clowns have caused zero aggression. The female in there has always been very mellow, even when spawning with her old mate. The little orange one was a replacement when the male died during a tank transfer.

Garden eels are pretty amazing. My favorite tank in the Long Beach Aquarium is the bow-in garden eel tank (step forward and the tank curves around you). I would love a dropoff tank to just have an 8 in sand bed filled with garden eels next to the rest of the tank with rocks and such.
I didn’t realize those eels were so thin and small. Do they need to be in a docile tank?

That sounds like a good idea. I would like to do that but I want to get one of these and my wife would kill me if I bought two new tanks.

Love this guy, their eyes are so weird when viewed front on.

Did you add him last to the gang?

Well, I’m bringing home a big load of wrasses in a couple weeks and also considering getting a Pseudocoris yamashiroi to go with my oddball mix of wrasses.

Yes, they are great!

I did not. The last one I added was actually the golden.
Nice! Definitely another I’ll have in the near future.

The devil… can’t even see the Pinky. I knew that should have move the Pink first let’s see how things progress. At least no damage but chasing was intense.

The pink will do fine. That’s like a B17 chasing a P51 mustang.

Hi everyone...I am back now to ask a question of my own...lol...I am currently in process of upgrading to a 250g...my current tank has a beauty male melanurus wrasse...I got a small canary wrasse in the 250g now and would lie to add a second - first is that do-able and second any major red lights going off with putting the melanurus in with them? Thanks in advance for all your advice

Pseudocoris yamashiroi is an awesome fish. Basically an XXL Pseudojuloides.

Thanks for the reassurance. Things are definitely improving between these two. There is a lot of flashing from both if they get too close but not as much chasing.

Thinking about getting a Purple/yellow aka Canarytop wrasse (Halichores leucoxanthus) in a few months but still unsure.
