Quality marine must have pinkies in supply. I saw 10 or so cute little guys between my two local stores.

For anyone who’s been looking for them, now might be a good time to ask your LFS to look for them on the QM order sheets. Might be listed as “pelvic spot wrasse” or “cryptic sixline.” And in my opinion, seeing them/getting one in person is best for these fish given they are known to really struggle with shipping (someone knowledgeable once told me only 3 or 4 out of 10 will survive being shipped stateside).

Other than that, I saw a couple cute meanies today including a peppermint hogfish (wrasse) beating up an emperor snapper and this flirtatious (and pretty) jerk:

No pencils of any kind to be seen though :/

Hey guys I have a 5x2x2 feet 150 gallon tank and I was making the fish list, during this time I finished my list of flasher and fairy wrasses I want, but the last one is the leopard wrasse. I absolutely love how most of the females look, more than the males actually. I currently have a pellet feeding female ornate leopard and I really want a female white leopard. The thing is I’m worried that then one of them will turn into a male, do let me know if this will be the case, if not I’ll keep both of them or else I’ll keep either one (still not being able to decide on which one). Also what are the chances that both of them stays females as there are so many other male wrasses in the tank?

My list of the other wrasses:

Naoko fairy Wrasse (male)
Red/Orange headed Solon wrasse (male)
Earmuff wrasse (male)
Yellow Coris wrasse

If you have either of the female leopard wrasses mentioned, do show pictures! Would love to see how both turn out as adult females!

It is more likely one will turn male if you have multiple leopards. Though if you have a male other leopards are less likely to go male. So if the ornate is larger it might become male but then keep the white leopard female. Ornates don’t change much but I definitely agree that female white leopards are prettier.

I’ve been trying to find proper pics of adult male leopards but I just can’t find one. Do you have an adult male ornate leopard? If so can you show me yours? Or else do you know anyone who has an adult male ornate leopard who may willing to share a picture? Preferably one in blue and one in white light. If I like it then I’ll wait for her to grow a bit bigger before I get the white leopard so that she stays a female and this one turns to a male.

I would just get it. I don’t see either preventing the other from doing anything. I rarely see any interaction between my vivian and ornate. Though of course it may be just the presence that has some effect. Wrasses will change. Just enjoy them.

Yeah I’ll probably get it but it will take some time either ways since I’ll have to ask my lfs to get it in for me. All these wrasses will go well together right? Not in terms of looks but I mean like they will get along right? Also let me know what y’all think about this list in terms of how they look!

Yellow wrasse
Red Head Solon wrasse
Naoko wrasse
Earmuff wrasse
Ornate leopard wrasse
White leopard wrasse

My tank is a 5x2x2 feet 150 gallon tank with a 2 inch sand bed.

Don’t see any issue. All peaceful except maybe the fairies and they are unlikely to compete with a leopard

I would add your leopards and fairies first. Then I would add the halichoeres. They tend to grow quickly and can be quite bossy to any newcomers. My babi certainly is. The exception would be the chrysus snd leukoxanthus

I’ve noticed my Iridis is climbing up the hierarchy ladder now - she’s been flaring up to the big boss (Aquamarinus). Seems to have gone for the top position straight away instead of slowly pulling her way up.

I’ve already added the yellow wrasse and he seems to be playing nice to far, if there are any problems I’ll catch him in a trap and put him in an acclimation box then. Well now that you mention it, the leopards that come here are really small in size, so will that be an issue? Also since I already have the yellow wrasse and the ornate leopard I was thinking of adding the red headed Solon, earmuff, Naoko fairy and white leopard at the same time. That way I was hoping not to run into any aggression issues.

Use an acclimation box. Yellow shouldn’t be much of an issue. Mine was pretty passive.

Couldn't resist grabbing this one. C. Isosceles. He's the only one I could justify putting in the old tank while I'm building. Anyone local to Surprise AZ might be worth checking with Kona reef what they have. Looked like almost a dozen different species still there

@AZReef13 I think he was one of yours. He looks great did he have any favorite foods?
